    Posted: 29 September 2012 at 12:34am

So, is anyone else interested in this event?

I'm doing the AutoX:101 on Saturday the 6th, but I might also be interested in this on Sunday the 7th as it's the double-pad and the price is pretty good.

If we sign up before midnight this coming Sunday, the Early Bird price is only $50 which includes the $5 UBC membership for the day.

UBCSCC presents:
Welcome Back AutoX [2x Pad]
Membership Required: New Member $25, Renewal $20 via this link or $5 day membership at the registration desk on morning of
Date: Sunday, Oct 7th, 2012
Location: BC Driving Centre
Event Fee (pre-registration via Karelo ONLY): Early Bird (expires 11:59pm Sunday, Sept 30th) $45, Regular Price: $55

UBC Student Discount: Current UBC students receive $5 back upon presentation of BOTH a current UBC student card and U-Pass at morning sign-in

What more can we say? *Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!* This event will serve as a nice test and tune in preparation for our upcoming Slush Series, and also for those taking our AutoX 101 the day before to put their skills to the test!

BY REGISTERING, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO ALL CONDITIONS OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS. Any violations of these regulations will result in an immediate end to your day - please read BEFORE signing up.

Please note that this event is capped at 80 drivers plus exec team members. Pre-registration via Karelo is mandatory. As outlined in the supplemental regulations, there will be no cancellations/refunds or driver substitutions - if you are not sure you can attend, please do not pre-register.

There is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for any burnouts, reckless driving, or loud stereos on Ford Road at any time. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be immediately, and permanently, banned from all 3 local autocross clubs without warning. Registration check-in closes at 8:45am sharp.

Please ensure you bring your vehicle to a complete stop and look both directions at the break in the fence in the driveway, to ensure no planes are approaching.

Good luck from all of us in your UBCSCC Executive Team!

I wanted to, but yet again, couldn't make it to 101. And the next days
my moms birthday, so I'll be missing this one too :(

I'm not doing the 101, but I would be interested in the autocross.

I originally signed up for the spring session of AutoX:101, but on the evening beforehand a family emergency (spent the whole night until 7:30am at Emergency with my now ex-girlfriend's  son) prevented me from going. I was able to be re-slotted for Oct 6th after it was determined that there was still a spot available after the "newbs" got first crack. From what I understand, it's "full" now.

Not wishing to make this sound like grade-school social networking, but if you go I'll go.

Colby and I are now both registered for the UBCSCC autocross on the 7th.

We'd be delighted to see some more familiar Fieros (perhaps even a 914/6) out there.

It's the double-pad... it's the double-pad... it's the double-pad...

The weather on Sunday is expected to be perfect for autocross.

Just thought I'd mention that.

I have it on good authority that a familiar looking 914/6 will be out on Sunday.

The weather is going to be great!

I just got back a short while ago from the AutoX:101 school. I'm bagged!

I killed a lot of cones today, but I (hopefully) learned a lot as well (other than how to kill cones).

The weather tomorrow should be the same as today's. In other words... perfect.  (It was a bit "nippy" at 7:30am, but it warmed up plenty.)

Wow, now that was a fun day!!!!

I going to have a couple glasses of some nice cold champagne to settle down with, and then I'll come back in a more relaxed state to talk about today's autocross.

What a great day!

Yes, despite (kind of) losing to Patrick, it was still a great day. Definitely need some new tires for next season. It took me till my 5th run to realize that I was holding back a bit, but I did get a decent time at the end, considering how big of a role the tires played on this course layout.

This was today's course (although they slightly altered the start box)...

And this is what Colby saw at the very end of his last run... me anxiously waiting (at the left of the picture) to see Colby's time displayed on the digital timer (as I was the last car immediately prior to Colby's run).

It's too bad Colby caught a cone at the very end of his run. He would've beat me by .219 seconds. As it ended up, I beat him by .143 seconds. So close!

I was quite pleased with my day. After destroying multiple cones yesterday at AutoX:101, I didn't touch a single cone today, and my times got a little better every run.

If indeed I have the 4-spd '86 GT ready for next spring, this is a glorious way for the mighty duke to finish her autocross career.

This is the run with the camera attached to the front bumper. interesting to watch for a bit until it all goes to hell and the camera rotates and moves thru the run

This is a cell phone recorded "Fiero" dual. get the popcorn. it will be a close one.

I was wondering at first why the image brightness kept dimming and brightening, and then I realized that every time you leaned to your right to change the radio station, your white helmet was affecting the camera's automatic exposure control.

I'm pretty sure I saw a nickel on the track there somewhere!

The duel of dual Fieros.

Wow, could the two runs have been any closer!

Gary, the still images and videos were great. Thanks for posting them!
