Just bought an 86 fiero gt as my new project car. I need some help
from guys who know allot more then i do. I tried to search this forum
first but could not find what i was looking for.

My left rear brake caliper is leaking brake fluid from where the
emergency brake connects to the caliper. I assume it has a bad seal or
oring but i am not sure. I have never worked on a car with rear disc
brakes. Will a caliper rebuild kit come with what is necessary to fix
this? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Hi, I've rebuilt the rear calipers once, the second time I got an exchanged reman set from Lordco for a reasonable price. What is leaking is a thin plastic looking washer that goes between the emergency break ratcheting  mechinism through into the housing. It's not that difficult a job and I'm not that mechanicaly inclined. There are lots of instructions on the internet, you just need to take your time about it.

Thanks Brian, I don't know how "amazing" I am at Pennock's, but I've certainly spent enough time there over the last 13 years!

To the original poster - In regards to your calipers that need attention, order a caliper rebuild kit from a place like RockAuto. It'll be dirt cheap.

Well Brian, you know how I feel about it. I'd like to see you keep the GT and continue to autocross. But do what you feel is right and I wish you the best.

Invite me over and I'll bring a bottle of the U-Brew champagne I made last spring. It's pretty smooth now.
