1988 speedo wiring issue

   I have a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT 5spd 2.8l, I'm not getting 

any continuity into the car from the VSS sensor wires, I am 

checking continuity on the purple and yellow wires is this 

the correct wires? Also, the wires go from the VSS sensor 

and back into the trans housing, can anyone tell me where 

they come back out and go into the harness at, because I 

would like to test there before I start removing heat tape 

and chasing the harness all the way.Any help would be 

greatly appreciated!!
