There's a new movie coming out sometime in 2013. It stars Mark Wahlberg (Italian Job) and Dwayne
Johnson (aka the Rock)......and a Fiero

Think maybe we should do a club outing to see this on opening day?

I have contacted my friend at CityTV. They are going to check with Paramount Studios and see if they can get 10 tickets for the club to either the preview or an opening night viewing of the movie.

I stuck my neck out a bit and said we could park 10 Fieros in front of the theatre.

No promises that Paramount will respond though.

Ken Depending on when you do it, I can get you 2 or 3 Fiero's from here. Maybe more. I will also email bomb every Fiero owner I know in the club to see what I can do, and if we really get short handed, we can post a craigslist ad looking for Fiero's to come to the show. (we will make any non members pay you for the tickets though)

My fiero lights are propped up, but if that isn't a problem, I'd be interested.

I'd totally be interested in this! Depending on what is
going on that is. Nice Formula but I'd still prefer the
sexiness of my GT. ;)

I haven't heard from the studios if they will give me promo tickets or not. Actually, they gave me a preliminary no until we get closer to opening day.

So if we organize a group to see this, it will be at our individual cost.

City TV just gave me a call.   I have 2 tickets to this show.....tonight. (actually 1 ticket for 2 people). The preview. The preview showing is at Tinseltown (Chinatown- Vancouver) Theatres. I need to be in Vancouver to pick up the tickets at 5:30pm or so, and be at the Theatre at 6:00pm for the 7:00 showing.

Please PM before 4:00pm today if you want to join me.

You're cute enough and all, Ken ... but lack of advance notice no doubt hurt your chances.

So, how was the movie?

As it turned out, when I got there, not everybody went and picked up tickets so there were 10 tickets waiting for me.   Sorry about the lack of notice, but that's all I got too.   Probably why there were tickets left. However, by the time the movie started, the theatre was full so they all the tickets probably did manage to get given away.

Now the movie......it's a true story with a few liberties taken by the director. The acting was not great, and the gory details were there. Lots of blood and brutal gros killing.

I would say the best part of the show were the cars.   The Fiero, even though the driver side rear tire was a mini spare, the Porsche slant nose 911 and a Lamborghini Diablo. Since the events happened in the early 1990's, the time period of the cars are appropriate.

I won't spoil the plot for those who still want to go see it, but I had tickets to the preview of Oblivion last week and Oblivion is a will pay to see again type movie, whereas Pain & Gain is a I probably wouldn't pay money to see this again.

Was there a reason (in the plot of the movie) why they'd have a stupid looking mini spare mounted on the Fiero?  (You can see it in the very first picture at the top of this thread.)

Mark Wahlberg's character could not afford to pay his bills on time, let alone get a new tire for his car.
