Remove oil filler cap, have someone crank the engine over and you watch the rockers through the filler hole. If the rockers don't move, then you have blown the timing gear and engine will need to be removed to fix it. I will explain later.

Ok back for a few mins. The 2.5 uses a gear drive timing system, the cam gear is made of a nylon like material. Over time and use the gear may brake or lose a tooth. If that happens the cam stops turning. The cam is what drives the distributor and inside the distributor is the pickup coil, the pickup coil is what tells the ECM to fire the injector(s) So in short. One bad tooth on the cam gear and the injector won't fire.
Now on a lighter note, just double check that no fuses are blown. |

The injectors get power all the time - the ECM grounds them (IT in your case!) to fire them.
Pull the clip off the injector. Turn on the key, and meter out which side is power. Now take a test light: Clip the lead to the battery, and probe the OTHER wire (that wasn't powered) on the harness. Have a helper crank the engine. The light should blink every time the ECM fires the injector. Does your tach needle move when you're cranking? If not, replace your ignition module - chances are the ECM isn't getting feedback pulses from it, and it then won't fire the injector. |

Just be glad it was a simple fix. If it was the gear it is a hassle to do it.
