Just drove this home from Squamish. It seems to be some sort of special edition? Two tone interior matches the exterior, uncommon mags, dual exhaust on a duke (?). Did i Do good?

Looks like a clean little runner. I remember reading in the late 90's about some West Coast Dealer option where they were installing old 84 Indy trim kits on some 4cyl cars as the Indy's had the same Aero body's as the 85Gt/86SE however ran a 4cyl with dual exhaust out the back. Those mags kinda look like Berretta mags. Overall looks like a nice clean car. Will be a great starting point if you were still thinking about building a Fiero Track car. Or even leave it as is and use it as a daily run around car.

This was the original post about this car a while back. For $1000obo I'd say you did pretty good.

Yeah, anyone who has a realistic grasp of reality and a regular sized wallet knows the actual prices of Fiero's. Although some people like to fan the flames of the Fiero craze because it helps with ICBC and their own possible re-sale.
I think in the past year I've seen at least a dozen nice enough looking Fiero's go for $300-$1000. All they would need is some regular maintenance, a wax and a vacuum. Add used rims and a paint job and you'd have a $6000 Fiero? Opps.. did I just spoil the secret. Yay for 600% profit return on investment. |

That kinda looks like the Indy Pacecar Fiero, just minus the roof-scoop. Or perhaps I've simply gone crazy.

Check the RPO sticker under the hood (front). Down near the bottom will be a couple of codes with an L and a U - those are the paint codes. From those you can tell if it's original colors.
If you can't find it, take a good high res shot of the sticker and post it up. |

Speaking of which. Is there any way of having the RPO codes looked up? Unfortunatly mine is badly faded. I have written down as many as I could read, and matched ones to what I have found online, but it's not complete. Thanks

I think Daves theory on this car might be acurate- some west coast dealers got together and did thier own thing perhaps- there doesnt seem to be any factory record of a two tone paint job., yet there seems to be some factory co-operation... because the dash is two tone to match the paint. has any body seen a two tone dash before? the vinyl litteraly changes coulor with no seam between the colors. . not something anybody but the factory could do (?)..... also there are leather fiero badges sewn all over the place.... Im pretty excited about the interior because even though a lot of the peices are loose because the previous owner was mid stride putting in a new sterio, the pieces are all in great condition and i should be able to resore to a 9 out of 10. will post a picture of the dash later. glenn
