Hey that's great news!  Definately interested, just have to try to keep that day open.  It is the long weekend.

Have you got a URL handy to the pre-reg page?  Which club is it with and are there some key issues we should note?  I quickly glanced over one of the threads over at UBSCC awhile back and they were mentioning noise and general misbehavior concerns.  Could you please fill us in on how things may be different and handled now?

Cheers

Aus

Hey bud,

This is a VCMC event (http://www.vcmc.ca/) and you can register for the whole years events which they have up already with Karelo as in the past (http://www.karelo.com/menu.php).

And here is UBC's site which I am sure you have for all the other events, they are also doing more track days than auto-z this season (http://ubcscc.com/)

The main thing is the sound, and being respectful to the neighbours...if at any time any event does piss anyone off, all could be canceled.

Other than the auto-x, I am hoping for more track days with how my schedule looks.

I am already in for April 12th, hope to see you then...I am off as of Friday so if you are into getting together for any prep, give me a call:)

Dammit why do I have to be broke on a fun weekend like this!

Im hopeing to take the GTI out this year for sure I got my car setup way better now.  Cage bolted up, more polyurathane then before, bigger brakes and a few other goodies!

I'll try and head out there and see how you guys are doing :)

Hey guys, for future reference, what kind of safety add-ons are necessary to compete? Roll cage and new tires?

You can go stock...other than a helmet, nothing required...and there are loaner helmets also:)...once you get into it, then tires & suspension, but if you just want to get out and have fun, just come on out:)

Hey Brian, I hear ya.. I NEARLY left just at lunch break too after being completely drenched and Trinh wasn't feeling too well either.  Just as I was packing up to go, a couple friends showed up to cheer me on :)

Kris, Thanks for showing up to show your support.  It's too bad about the wet and cold.  The afternoon consisted of 2 runs each group as i'm sure everyone was starting to feel more than just soaked!

I'm pretty beat so I'll update and post some videos later on.

ps. Nice DNF-save on the last run btw lol!

Thanks, Austin. It was fun.

Sorry I missed seeing you, Brian. Hope you're feeling better.

And yea, the weather was miserable. I watched a couple other cars almost totally lose it in those giant puddles. Easy for me to say though, seeing as I wasn't driving. The pylons confuse me. I'd probably get lost.

Anyway, maybe someday soon I'll actually don the helmet and give it a go.  :)

Cheers,

Kris

Quick update, sorry for the bad video I was too pre-occupied to bother moving the camera.  Great soundtrack though haha

Got a bit sideways a few times on that one :)  My times for the day from start to finish were 69.xxx, 65.xxx, 61.xxx, 60.xxx, 58.xxx.  The one in the video was the 61.xxx time.  I was trying to ease into the runs as you can tell by the times however my right foot sometimes feels like its made of lead  And that's clutch slipping, not tire spin.  I can thank the idiot at Aircare for riding my clutch on the dyno

Gosh, I hate air-care drivers. My guy did my 40KM/H test in second gear. My engine was almost red-lining the whole time. When he told me I failed the 40KM/H test I was visibly upset, I think my words were something along the lines of "Maybe learn to f*$<ing shift!"

And that's awesome... I might just attend the next get together, when is it?

I'll post the schedules for each club..In would HIGHLY suggest the Velocity Drivers Training Course...and the BMW one I took (as I am a member with BMW club also) has a day program with Drivers Unlimited...

If anyone is interested in these programs let me know...amazing how many people think they know how to drive

Haha yeah oops :P  Btw which helmet does Kirsten have?  Trinh may have caught the AutoX bug when she was riding along because when I told her we should get her a helmet and she agreed   I'd better not say too much, I think she's spying on me here
