A huge thank you to John Cascarejo and Blair. Nigel now has a new power window motor in his car. These are the pics from the Day. Basically, remove the door panel, drill out a dozen rivets, take off the arm rest support, and funny metal bar on the door. Remove a few bolts, remove the lower window track bar, have someone hold up the glass, remove the motor and regulator as one piece, slowly let the glass come down. Then drill out the rivets in the motor to regulator housings. Install new motor with bolts or new rivets. Then go back to the car and start riveting or bolting all the parts back together in reverse order. Oh the spring in the regulator needs to be locked in place while you change the motor or it will dang near take a hand off. Thankfully it was noticed and had been mentioned in an earlier thread so Blair and John were prepared for it. Nigel was the man taking the door panel off and holding the glass, while Blair did the grinding and John did the removal and install of the motor. Me, eh, I just took a lot of pics. Oh and I did finally fix the water leak in my cooling system thanks to Blair noticing a small crack in a heater hose.Power Window Motor Install |

WOW - its Great to have a window that opens and closes with the simple push of a button. To get to that point I have to thank Blair & John John for their help to remove and install my new power window motor. Also thanks to the Captain for being our photograph. Finally my left-hand window to the world goes up and down - yippy.
