Just a quick update.  Car2Lo came and did some more work on the nose, and I did a quickie black and white primer dusting just to see what it will look like.  I am really pleased so far.

Here are the quick shots, sorry for the darkness I shot them at 8pm tonight.

Yep Johnny has been taking unbelievably good care of my
car. He will be here on Saturday during the stripping
party, and will be doing many final touch s to the nose.

I think we really need to publicize this event as a
HUGE deal.

Stripping a Fiero from start to finish, final touchs
to body work and fiberglassing, People can see not only a
4.9 V8 Fiero 5spd, but a Chevrolet V8 5spd and hopefully a
3800S/C V6 5spd Choptop Fiero all in the same place, my
gawd what else could you ask for....

Ha Ha, by the phone number that you got at the meeting I
don't think you are settling down. You should bring her to
a meeting, LOL, Oh Wait, she will already be there.

I think its too early to say he got her pregnant.

This is getting way off topic, I think if we want to
discuss Romeo's dating and sexual habits we might want to
start a different thread in O/T.

LOL, Thanks Patrick.

Now back to the car, sorry I didn't grab any pics. However
today, I took some 60 grit sandpaper and cleaned up the
really rough edges and bumps, I'll take some 80 to it tomorrow with the air sander to clean and shape it a bit
more.   That way when Car2Lo attacks it on Saturday, it
should be all ready for final shaping and then painting
with primer. I may take some 240 to the rest of the body
and start shooting small area's of it with the proper
primer colours as well.   I can't wait to see the entire
car in a proper colour.

Car2Lo, will it hurt anything if I sand it smooth and put a
coat of primer on it at this point, or better if I just
leave it until you get here on Saturday?

There is one problem with all this spraying.  The top coat is only as good as the bottom layers.  You spray somewhere you shouldn't have and it could cause problems later on.

Surface needs to be clean and NOT shiny or it won't bond properly.  With black primer all over the place it's hard to tell what's good and what's not anymore.

My advise.......Breeeeeeeeeth, relaaaaaaax.......be patient...:)

Ya I know.... I knew I should not be spraying, I just
so, wanted to see it in a semi colour. I'll hit it with
the sander and take off all the paint before we start
glassing on top of it all. Fortunately I only did a
light dusting on the nose, the only place that got
several coats was the hood, and even that, should not be
an issue to sand off.

     See ya all on Saturday.

So I went to move the car, reached in turned the key and
nothing. I thought maybe I didn't turn the battery on,
so I carefully raised the hood, and checked, yep its on,
tried the key again and no crank. So I checked the
battery cables, yep they are tight. I got and get a
jumper box, still no start.....    Hmm, WTF.... I actually got in the car hit the key again, and again,
still nothing. I am looking under the dash, trying to
see if I can find a wire loose. I am thinking, oh crap
the starter has packed it in from sitting on the grass.
Thats when I stopped to think for a min.............
This is not my 88GT and it DOES NOT HAVE A CLUTCH SWITCH
BYPASS!!!!!!

I stepped on the clutch, turned the key and
VROOOM.

Man I am way too tired.

Coulda been worse....

You were tired and forgot to check if it was in neutral.  And it started.  And you injected all that hard work into the side of Lisas car or something.

Yep that would have been bad, however because I am so used
to having the clutch switch off, I don't even think about
it, before I even put the key in the ignition, the first
thing I do is give the shifter a shake back and forth to
make sure its in neutral.

I think my next project after the battery stuff is
to make a quick bypass and install it.

Aren't you suppose to be on the road on your
way here?

I don't even have a bypass, and that's the first thing I do too!
