Hi guys,

Well the work on my car continues.  Does anyone have a wiper/signal light stalk (black in good condition) for sale?

next is this is something difficult to install?  I prabably will need to have someone help me with the install.  Any offers?  Anything you would like to sweeten the deal?

Hugh

You can buy them new from E-Bay for about $15  If you do not have cruise, the swap takes about 45 seconds.   I can't remember the exact rotation, but IIRC you rotate the arm back wards then press the washer lever forwards and at the same time pull it out of the socket.

If you have cruise it becomes much more involved as you have a wire attached to the stock which must be un-thread through the entire column.  If you don't have cruise, it just pops out and you can pop the new one in.  Don't even need any tools.   As for having a spare, sorry I had to source one for my car a while back.

Can I put a non-cruise control arm in my car if I had int-wipers and cruise? I'd assume I just cut the wires I don't need.

That is a good question. I Ripped out my cruise control and Then when i sat my fat ass down in the drivers seat one day I got caught on the turn sig switch and snapped it in half. Can i use the switch without cruise or is it a totally diffrent switch?

Cheers,

Yes it should work fine. I just bought a no-cruise switch from Fierostore and it works fine.

*EDIT* To change it: Just push in the shaft (in your case) or entire wiper arm then do a counter clock-wise / clock-wise jiggle until you feel it pop out a bit then lightly pull on it.
I wanna go fast.

OK for some bizarre reason (maybe because of my Irish background) I have not been able to remove the old stalk from my car. I have followed the instructions by Capt Fiero on this post and yet the damn thing won't budge!!  Any sugestions?

You might be just treating it too gently.

Pretend it's a dead beat patient who stiffed you on the last bill, and he's not under sedation and you need to extract a molar.

Jab!  Push!  Twist!  YANK!

Hey Hugh, I don't know where you live, but if you have the car in my neighborhood, drop me a line on my cell, 604-807-2623  and bring the new arm, I'll go ahead and swap them out for you.  If you have working cruise and you want the wire THROUGH the coulomb its about 30mins if you don't mind a few inches of the wire visible under the coulomb its about 90 seconds.  If you don't have cruise then its a 90 second job to swap over.
