hi there ive been having more and more prob with this, is tehre a way to dissconnect the clutch switch, somedays i have to keep mashing the pedals in order for the car to start up, some days are fine and some are 15 min of pressing,

Major safety no-no, but.... you can simply take a loop of wire and bridge the 2 terminals.
These switches are crazy easy to fix though (ditto on the brake switches). Just reach up there, remove the plug, yank the switch out (it's a friction fit) after CAREFULLY removing the pin from the pedal. With switch in hand... just split the case by gently prying it apart. Rub the accumulated goo off the contacts, and scrape off any burnt on crud. Move some of the grease thats inside it onto the now bare patches. Click it back together, and reinstall. |

Yep as the Dr said, you can simply bridge the 2 wires and problem is gone. Now this is where he and I differ, I personally remove the damn switch on all my standards. When I am working on the car the wheels are always blocked, so its much nicer to just reach in and hit the key to fire it up. Also when I, jump in the car its my standard routine, to jump in, put my foot on the brake and fire it up. I just don't like having to push in the clutch pedal. |

so that platic type plunger that depresses when i press the clutch, pull out the wire connecting in and just bridge them and that will stop that problem?

Nope other end, the one that gets pushed IN when the clutch pedal is all the way down.

Just don't let your wife start your car.
I had the switch delete on my old F150, parked in reverse.
She jumped in, hit the starter and the engine caught in reverse, ran about 10 feet before coming to a stop almost on top of my dad's mercedes. Good times!

Or the mechanic at cdn tire (it was 27 years ago and i lived in an
apartment!) I took my 74 camaro in to. Took it in because of a faulty switch that let it start in gear! He left the door open with the car on the hoist. Had left it in reverse and.... Hit the starter. 350 powered door vs. heavy steel post. Guess who DIDNT win that argument? Shop insurance paid for it, but it was never the same. |

ouch, well i thought was that switch now its not going into gear properly, when i couldn't start it i mashed it a few times thinking the switch was clicking, had a friend drive my car home and said it wouldn't go into gear for some reason at a stop light, so talking it to a shop now, if isnt the clutch switch i think im gonna keep that on judging by your stories,lol yeah my nissan had the switch removed and my little brother thinking he was gonna be cool reached over and tryed starting it as i was on my way to the car resulting in me almost getting run over,lol

Ok, if you can't get it in gear (totally different problem!), CHANCES ARE you've lost your slave cylinder.
Make sure they ONLY replace it with an SC37795, not the SC37794 that a lot of books call for. And only take it to a place that has a pressure bleeder or you'll be paying by the hour for someone to fruitlessly pump a pedal and probably never get it right. |
