Red �85 GT(?) with red wheels

   I saw a red Fiero with aero trim going south on Nanaimo Street between Hastings and 1st Avenue yesterday that I've never seen around here before. It sounded like a factory V6 and it appeared to possibly be an '85 GT. 
What was distinctive about it was that the wheels were the same color red as the body. I believe there was a polished lip on the wheels as well. It actually looked a lot better than I thought it would with red wheels matching the body.
It was impossible to tell if they were "base" or GT wheels as they were spinning quickly (and I only saw a short glimpse of the car through a gap in buildings and trees as the car was doing at least 50 kph up the street).
I photoshopped a web image below to show approximately what it looked like.

Has anyone seen a Fiero that looks pretty close to this around the Lower Mainland before?
[EDIT] Actually, it looked more like this as it went by.
