You engine should be a 2.8 not a 2.6 if you have a 2.6 you have an odd GT.  The only engines were 2.5 4cyl or 2.8 V6.

As to your question you should be getting about 200 miles per tank.

It could be one of any number of things, however first thing to replace if you have not done it in the last year is your O2 Sensor.  If you have not done a full tune up in a year, better do that as well.

Cap, Rotor, Plugs Wires and if you have a Factory Coil, might be a good time to get the MSD Replacement coil for the Fiero.

Depending on the year of your car.  I believe the size of the gas tank increased a bit in 1986.   It went from a 10 to a 12 gallon tank.

Mine being 1985, I got 280 kms mixed and about 340kms per tank strictly highway driving when it was new.   Now I think I get about 260 kms mixed and about 320kms strictly highway.   Not bad for a car with 200,000kms on the original engine.  So you car being 1986, you should be getting about the same.  Of course if you have lead foot, the worst tank of gas I ever got was about 210 kms / tank.

Your car being 1986 should get about what I was getting when my car was new.  Maybe it's time for a full tune-up.
