Topic: Exhaust Shops? Posted: 19 March 2008 at 2:21pm |
I have not had to deal with an exhaust shop in years. I am going to need some minor work done. I need to swap out my 88GT's exhaust. I have a really nice exhaust that came off an 85V6 car, unfortunately they are not interchangeable directly. I need to have a new head pipe welded on just before the cat to make the swap. It's a simple cut off the old one and weld on the new one. I have all the parts, so all the shop has to do is one cut and weld one pipe.
Any suggestions on where to go to get it done? Would like something in the Surrey/Langley area. As I plan to do the swap and then drive it to the shop. Which means running open pipe to the shop. |

Midas in Newton has always been good to me and they did all my exhaust work.

If you feel like driving this far - Muffler Man in new west (on Kingsway just off 14th ave) has always done us well.
You have the new J-pipe right? You can also use a Torc-Tite coupler to link the pipe together if they're pretty smooth. We use 'em on huge engines at work all the time. They range from 2" up to about 8". |

Thanks for all the suggestions. Dr.Fiero, I had almost forgoten about the home use exhaust couplers. I do have the J-Pipe. I actully got it from you a long time ago. As a matter of laughing fact. I think the exhaust that I am using, is where the J-Pipe came from originally. It was changed to use on an 85 car, and I am putting it back on an 88 car. (Was Gareths exhaust used on Ryans car, now it coming off of Ryans and going onto my 88)
