fuel pump question

   going cross country to get this question answered...

I have a basic l67 swap and the fuel pump died on me, leaving me and the wife in the middle of Nowhere Ontario in the rain...

I'd like to know which way to do with a new pump, everything I find is for a stockish 3.8.  by next summer I wont be even close, so I might as well take care of this properly now.  
I'm here cause no one in mtl/ ottawa has anything this modified...that I have seen. so info is limited on major mods here.  
TO has  great 3.8 support, and I'm asking there too, but they're all GTP guys, you know how THEY are! lol
I cant post on PFF cause I live in the sticks and run the internet off my cell...  

the mod list by the spring will be:
ported SC(have it)
ported LIM(have it)
stage 2 IC(have it)
heads(port/polish or aluminum depends on budget)
xp cam (with supporting odds and ends)
new flex plate and TC
injectors

given the list I'll be in needs of a decent pump, should I bother looking for an intank that will work?  just get a remote pump?

	I personally think that a in tank unit would work fine for you, I and most of the guys here run a corvette/ buick grand national pump which is more than capable of supplying the fuel that you need... I can't off the top of my head remember what year corvette the pump is from but since the grand national was only made for a few years any capable parts guy should be able to find it for you.. Hope this helps...

	Personally, I've never had a GM in-tank fuel pump last 10 years in any of the GM cars I've ever owned. Just replace it with another in-tank pump and you should be good for another 9 or 10 years. I'm not sure if you actually need a bigger pump or not. You just need a pump that will build enough pressure for the injectors to function. Others might comment here, but I think most of the guys with conversions are using the stock Fiero pumps. Most people neglect to replace the fuel filter every few years. In fact, I did that and replaced it after 10 years of service. I suspect that was probably what caused my pump to go more than anything else. Oh...and welcome to Westcoast Fieros of BC's forum.
