I think I've mentioned before about how resistance (ie, from a dirty, corroded, etc connection) causes a voltage drop, and this all combined results in heat.

Well, here is a GREAT example of all this combined!

This was from a fuse holder I had.  You couldn't see down inside it, so I never spotted the goop on the contacts when I put this brand new fuse in earlier this year.

But believe it or not, it still actually worked!

I can't remember light green is that a 30amp?

I have seen that before.  On my own frigging car no less.  Although mine was a 20amp.   I narrowed it down to cheap quality fuses.  I had a tendency to grab the dollar store pack of 10 fuses for a buck.  Guess what there is a reason they are 10 for a buck.   They don't pop or burn out they fricking go Chernobyl.

If you are too young to remember Chernobyl from school look it up, especially the pics of it.   I'll see if I can dig up my pics.  Maybe you should make a gallery out of "cheap fuse" deaths.

Ah found mine, not near as bad as yours, but similar concept.

These are really crappy 10 cent fuses.  I have since thrown them all out and replaced them with a good fuse kit.
