Hi all,

I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=16014 9224575&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:US:11  and becaause of work I was not able to get my bid high enough so I missed the auction.  So I emailed him and asked if he would be posting any more in the future and his reply was:

Would you be interested on a direct buy for $118.00. (shipping included)
I have two more but they are commited to club members.
I can have another kit ready by next weekend and send you a paypal invoice at that time.

Let me know if that is of interest.
Thanks
DR

So I advised that if he was interested for more business I would adivse us all...would there be anyone else interested?, if so I'll let him know.

Cheers, Brian

It's a normal Gates tensioner (about $40) - a normal belt (about $15) - and about $2 of 5/16" plate.   ummmmm...

The concept is great though!

YThe kits are are for a different purpose, this is a tensioner, the Dickman's a Power Pulley.  The feature I want to gain from this is ease of adjustment/replacement not a power gain.

Rodney's pulley kit does not work as a tensioner though, it just adds an extra pulley to give you extra wrap.  The idea of a tensioner pulley is so that you don't have to worry about going in and re-tightening your alternator belt "EVER" you simply install and you are done.

YES...that's why I want one...here's his reply today:

Just FYI I ran some #'s and looks like USPS 6-10 day is $21.20. About double the US postage. If you decide you might be interested I'm willing to do it for $120.00 USD (including postage) for the complete kit.
Just a bracket if you want to get your own belt and tensioner would be $65 shipped.

Meanwhile I'll check out the other shippers and see if there is any difference.

So other than Groken...anyone else interedted?

Hmmm, my belt likes to make noise on cold starts... when I get my car back I'm going to try to get that adjusted out, but if I can't then I'll probably want one.

Oooh, I need maybe a day or two more. I just got my car back from ICBC on Friday. I'm hoping to check out the belt issues tomorrow, but I'm not sure exactly when it'll happen. I'll try to post back tomorrow night.
