Someone correct me if I am wrong, but a good quality white lithium (sp) grease should do the trick. |

If there's any of the silicone grease in there now - they won't mix.
I think the lithium MIGHT be too runny as well. (the one time I used the Dow stuff, it was like spreading cold glue on!) |

Well the greese from when you installed the kit is still on, and emailed Rodney for the instructions on how to remove the brass gear and all...sent me the 87-88 copy...lol. I am heading out to Blairs tonight to see if we can figure this out...need headlights for my trip...you know how that is right David:). Would NAPA or CT have a silicone greese that woud work, or better yet can this old greese be cleaned off properly then re-installed?...hmmm Cheers, will be on the road shortly |

Oh Jay:)...don't think it would stand up to any heat from the rad...lol. Was able to install one that Blair had, take apart the one I had with the Dickman gear and all in it, clean it and be ready to rebuild the one we just pulled...looks like an original one, not too many working ones left...lol In saying that, I will search for a good silicon greese and clean it all up and have it ready for the future...or when one of Blair's dies...lol |
