Tonight while driving my instrument lights turned off and when arrived home to check fuses etc ( which seemed all fine ) and turn off the headlights, the headlight bucket actuators would nnot go down to the home position. Too dark to check now, but thought some of you might send me in the right direction so i can look into my problem tomorrow night. Thanks Marcel...........first time out in the fiero in 12 months!!!!! |

Start by checking your fuses under the dash, and fuse able links
in the Eng/bay. make sure they all check out good. then i would look at the dubbl switch that turns on your lights, could be trubbl! Good luck |

I did a furture check in the daylight and found the "TAIL" fuse blown. Replaced but keeps blowing every time i turm the lights on. Ill be checking the dash mounte light switches first then start lookin g for shorts (wont be fun). Can any one suggest the weakest part of the running light wiring??

Marcel, sometimes it's just a bulb itself which is shorting out. I'd remove the bulbs on the circuit and then turn on the switch and see what happens. If you can't determine which bulb is shorted by testing/looking at them individually, then install one at a time until something ugly occurs.

Patrick has it right iam sure, pop the trunk
take out the plastic plugs that hide the bolts that hold your tail lights in.after tail lights are out remove-untwist-remove the bulb socket,in all of them.remove all bulbs from sockets, some are 2 pin some are 1 pin. then do as Patrick said.-------------- then turn on the switch and see what happens. If you can't determine which bulb is shorted by testing/looking at them individually, then install one at a time until something ugly occurs. good luck |

Marcel bring the car over here today if you have a chance, I think I know what you problem is. There is a diode pack under the dash, size of a quarter with a large heat sink on it. Probably fried itself and is shorting out the system. Call me 604-584-7717
