I own a 2000 Regal with a great running motor, but a junk trans. I have finally decided I can't find a trans for the Regal. Now I have found an 85 Fiero GT, can I do an easy swap with my 3.8 SC into an 85 GT, or will it require a different trans and a bunch of upgrades? Thanks in advance for any info given, I just need to get out from under this darn Regal.

Did I post in the wrong section? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think it should just bolt up, it has the same bell
housing pattern. |

The 3800 will bolt right up to the Fiero trans. You would need to make
or buy a mount for the engine, redo all coolant hoses and fuel lines, and rewire the engine and either trick the ECM into thinking it is still in the regal, or have it reprogrammed. You will also need a flywheel from a camaro 3800. Not quite a bolt in, but very doable for the mechanically inclined. Lots more good info on pennocks: www.fiero.com |

There is a TON of info at Pennock's Fiero Forum about this type of swap.
