Seeing as I've updated my '86 to a 5spd, I'm in need of a decent shape 5spd shifter plate!
I could only find one car at Ralphs, and the plate was pretty beat up. :( (oh, side note - there was a decent shape L/H GT tail light assy that I stuffed in it's trunk). Have one? Seen one? LMK. Thx. |

Yeah, I guess if it comes down to it.... :)
If I can find some silver mylar that's pretty thick that I can laser print on... sure! hehe.... (so - if anyone DOES know where I can get some - let me know and I'll print off a whole page of various stickers) |

I need one of those 5-speed shifter plates/stickers as well after my 4-speed to 5-speed conversion. If worse comes to worse, I'll just order a sticker from Rodney. They're only $2.50, and the postage can't be much! [EDIT] Actually, I just checked, and the postage is as much as the cost of the sticker when one sticker is ordered. Probably about the same cost for postage if a couple dozen are ordered.

I'll check around and see if I can find some material that's printable.

Might have a solution here...
Going to make a sample run and see if it kills my printer... err, I mean, works. |

Well, after searching around a bit for dimensions of the shifter plate and the logo of the shift pattern, I found.... nothing.
So - in hopes that Google crawls this page some time, and somebody else needs these dimensions... here: The opening in the plate is 24.2mm (H & W) The logo itself is 20.5mm (H & W) The plate itself is 2.6mm thick I don't have an easy way to measure the recess, or the height of the raised area (pad) that the logo is on, but I'm estimating 1mm recess and 0.5mm pad height. |

It worked! Check it out...
Scruffy OEM one. Revamped one. (it's actually just sitting there, not stuck down BTW) I'm not happy with the font of the "5", so I'll work that over and do it again - but once I got a system worked out, duplication is pretty easy. |

Not bad, except for the "5". Has that been printed on silver mylar as you mentioned earlier? If so, what would be the best way to stick it in place? Is silver mylar the stuff that is used on those shiny helium balloons?

Yeah, that 5 sucked in the original image, so...
I'm redoing all of the lettering, since it was a low DPI image to start with. So far, I'm looking at a 58pt font of Ariel rounded MT bold. It's pretty damn close. It's a combination of 2 products right now - might kick in a 3rd (it ends up being 3 layers thick in other words!). I'll post up more when I'm happy with the end result. |

If it helps I do have digital high res versions of all the stickers, including the shift decals.
