Universal throttle cable

Anyone know of a universal or other throttle cable that I can replace my 

stocker with? My engine is a 90 buick electra 3800. The problem I am 

having is that the heat in the engine compartment is melting the inner 

plastic liner. I was thinking of running it around the engine compartment 

and away from the header heat. The headers are wrapped and the 

throttle cable insulated and wrapped also, but it still melts. If no way of 

going around I could possibly go over the top, but would have to 

fabricate something up.

	So I have never heard of any universal kits, but I would suspect you could buy bulk bicycle cable and housing then wrap it, would be a ton of work to solder and fabricate ends but would be the cheapest solution.
