For those Novices learning, the Dancing with the Cones is a great day course...worth it...thought to post this for Mrcel also, should go to a meeting with that monster of yours
BMW Car Club of British Columbia Club Events Update - Posted October 3, 2010 Hello fellow enthusiasts, We'd like to bring your attention to upcoming events in October. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1 - Oct 17, Fall Fahrt Ins Blaue Day Drive 2 - Oct 19, Tech Demo Collision Repairs 3 - Oct 31, Dancing with Cones on Halloween Day ------------------------------------------------------------ In addition to the event summaries listed below, full event info is always available via the club calendar at: www.bmwccbc.org/calendar Event registration and payment as well as R.S.V.P options are done via our secure e-commerce partner Karelo e-services: https://www.karelo.com/restdetail.php?&BT=10&BID=49 ------------------------------------------------------------ 1 - Oct 17, Fall Fahrt Ins Blaue Day Drive ------------------------------------------------------------ A fun simple social oriented outing for club members and friends. We do a local scenic drive followed by a lunch stop and time to socialize. A great way to meet fellow club enthusiasts and have a fun outing. There is no event sign up fee. Each participant is responsible for their own lunch costs. Join us as we wrap up the 2010 driving events season with our annual Herbst (Fall) Fahrt Ins Blaue Day Drive. Date: Sunday October 17, 2010 Time: 10:00am to 10:20am meet and assemble 10:30am sharp departure for the drive Meeting Location: Guildford North Lot next to Chevron at 152 St and 105 Ave Surrey Fee: There is no fee to participate. Each participant is responsible for their own lunch costs.. Details: A fun scenic day drive that includes a lunch stop for an opportunity to socialize and chat with fellow club members. Suitable for the entire family, this is a relatively low cost fun outing. Registration via Karelo or other RSVP is requested so we can plan for space and advise the restaurant of how many folks to expect. On-line RSVP to participate in Fall FIB via Karelo: http://www.karelo.com/register.php?BID=49&BT=10#Ev9648 Registration cut off date for this event is: Wed., May 26th ------------------------------------------------------------ 2 - Oct 19, Tech Demo Collision Repairs ------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks to the efforts of one of our directors, your club has arranged with Korva World Class Collision Ltd. to have a BMW CCBC Tech Demo Session on Tuesday, Oct 17th starting at 6:00pm. Korva is well known as one of the specialty collision repair shops in Vancouver specializing in high end vehicles, and they have agreed to host a Tech Demo session for club members to inform members about collision repairs. The event will start 6 p.m. on Tuesday October 19, 2010. The session will last a couple of hours with a coffee break after the first hour. The following are examples of some of the agenda items. Frame straightening. New water based paints. Tour of the shop and view repairs in progress. Paint blending when only one panel is repainted. Alliance with BMW dealer shops for major mechanical repairs. Use of fillers. OEM and aftermarket parts. Please RSVP via the Karelo link. Sign up preference is given to valid BMW Club members. Perhaps with the date we should make this a 'dancing with pumpkins' day. Best enjoyed if you have previous experience such as a Car Control or similar session. Come to the event in your Halloween finery and have fun.
This is basically a full day of skills practice on a slalom course with Driving Unlimited instructors on hand to cover important basic safety skills and provide feedback and coaching.
Session includes on site catered lunch. This is a full day session from 8:30 am until 4:00pm Event Fees: Course fee is $150 CDN $140 for valid club members. Discounted early registration fee will be available until 1 month prior to event. Dancing with Cones Skills Challenge Day Includes Catered On site Lunch Guidance and Coaching by Driving Unlimited Full day session limited to 30 Participants Course Fee $140 CDN for members [$150 for non members] Course fee includes taxes and on site catered lunch. Date: Sunday October 31, 2010 Location: BC Driving Centre, 18200 Ford Road, Pitt Meadows Time: 8:30am to 4:00pm Fee: $140 club member price entry and registration fee per driver/car, includes catered lunch. Limited to 30 cars.
