Since I don't normally have insurance on my car, I will pull my Fiero out from under its covers and get a permit to drive to work on that day.

Dec 10 is the one day I cannot make this.  I need to be at the airport that day.

So I will wait for the club to announce the day of the drive and pick up insurance for that day.    Let's get as many Fieros out as possible for this!

Club Announces Dec 12th, in Coquitlam at the Safeway 3025 Lougheed Hwy.

Copied from the club email list.

There has been little public chatter about the Food Drive donations for the club this year.   I want to start a public discussion on the matter.

Ok we have made a couple changes, our norm was to Donate to the Santa Fox food drive.  Ken even mentioned it on the club site, however due to last year having very few people show up, and this year no one really seemed amped to go, I have decide to change it up a bit.

We need to decide, do we want to go on the 9th   Surrey,  which is the first day or the 12th in Coquitlam which is the last day. The 10th won’t work for Ken so, as he has family plans and he has actually been in contact with me regarding it, and the 11th is in Richmond which is out of the way for most people.

My vote would be for the 12th in Coquitlam.  Its further for me to drive, but I think it’s closer for most people.      Please reply publicly with your choices for dates.            I would also like to cross post the info to other car clubs to see if we can challenge other car groups to match whatever we come up with in terms or Cash, Toys and Food.

For the record its Crave 95.3 that is doing the organizing.

David

I have copied the info from there site below.

Oh, we should all pick a time, and show up as a Pontiac Posse. That would be cool. =)

So is this a go?

If it is, let's lock in the date so I can get insurance on my car.  Would like to see as many Fieros out as possible.

Sorry about the delay in getting the Final word out.   Hey Ken you feel like taking on the job of being the coordinator?   I am thinking the 12th will be best.  Its a Friday night, and most people will be happy about going out.   Ken and others is Friday going to work for everyone.  As Romeo suggested we should all pick a time that we can meet and caravan into the Parking lot as a group.  We have to make sure we each give a quick blip of the throttle as we drive by the DJ booth.   Make sure the DJ sees our whole group of cars pulling in at the same time.

Friday is good by me.   Pick a time?
We could meet at the Safeway at 64th and 120th or Krispy Kreme or somewhere where there is a big parking lot and cruise into Richmond together.   If there are others who want to meet us on the way (those living in Vancouver, we could maybe meet at Lansdowne Mall or something.

Also, if we want to do dinner, in the mall at #2 and Blundell where we're going, there is a Bistro called LA Grill.  It's owned by a friend of mine.  Steak dinners from $10.   Maybe if there's a group, we can pre-book a table.

Oops sorry.  Got my dates all crossed up.
Okay....Friday Coquitlam Safeway.

Not sure what traffic is like and what time most people can get available.   How about meeting at Guildford Town Centre at 6:30pm?  We drive across the Port Mann, jump onto Lougheed Highway to Coquitlam Centre to meet up with other in that area and then to the Safeway.  Have to go Anson Ave and double back onto Ponderosa St.  We should be there around 7:15pm.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hey I am thinking we should bump the time up about 30mins and or have people meet us along the way closer to where we have to meet.  The Friday night Broadcast ends at 7pm.  So we have to be there before 7pm.

Good call.  I didn't know what the broadcast time were.  I know for a fact that the Lougheed Hwy Corridor is a traffic jam until about 6:30.

How many people can make 5:30pm at Guildford, and meet at Coquitlam Centre South side of parking lot at 6:15pm?

I have been doing very little regarding setting up this run.  Ken So has been trying to help, but I was really hoping someone would step up and really take the bull by the horns on this one. However there seems to be a lot of information getting crossed sideways.

Ok here is the game plan.

6:00 pm I am going to leave my house.

6:10 pm Arrive Guildford Mall Parking lot. Those that want to meet, can meet me in the Open Parking between Red Robin and Wal-Mart.  I will have my GMRS on CH 20  I’ll circle the area a couple times and rev up my engine.

6:15pm Sharp leave Guildford Mall and head for

TRI-CITIES SAFEWAY
3025 Lougheed Hwy in Coquitlam
Cheques made out to: Share Food Bank (Tri-Cities)

Please bring either canned food, toys or cash.    I think everyone can spare at least a couple of couple boxes of Mac and Cheese from there cupboard.

We should arrive there at 6:45.  We need to be there before 7pm, as they close up shop at 7pm.

I would like to see as many cars as possible attend.  If you want to meet us on route from the Coquitlam side of the port man, please email out where you want to meet on that side of the bridge.

I know Traffic is going to be a nasty $itch, but we will just have to deal with it.   It’s a Friday with possible snow on the ground or falling.  The roads should be fine to drive on but seems like Vancouver people getting paranoid when snow starts to come down.

My cell is 604-807-2623 Call me anytime.

I will do my darndest to be at Guildford around 6:00pm.

See you all there!

I also left a message with Crave FM to let them know we're going to do our best to be there before 7:00 but if we don't make it, we hope somebody will be there to take the food and money from us.

Same here, snow has stopped and its just rain.   If it stays clear, Lisa and I might bring both Fiero's, if not she can ride with me and I'll work her as dispatch on the radios.

Hi David,

Thanks so much for your email.  I'm sure our volunteers will be packing a little bit beyond the 7pm cut-off, but I can't be sure exactly how long they'll be there.  The closer to 7pm, the better.

Thanks so much for your support...and for listening!
