Well, despite the colossal turnout, for anyone who wasn't at the January meeting, you missed a damn good one. First off the list was posing the question if they club would like to do more of anything in particular: Drives, Tech Days, Car Shows, etc. People all had something they'd like to see more of, and why, which was extremely encouraging to see. Following that was a visual respresentation of the distributors Damien (Dawg) has been working on, as well as plans for future project between him and his wife (I wont spoil the surprise, they'll tell you when they're ready!). Next on the chopping block was modifications people were undergoing. Patrick just finished up his one Fiero GT (A feat which I'm sure both he and Clynt appreciate) and a in depth discussion about brake conversions. Brian's fanatical devotion to race slicks was also mentioned in passing. At that point, like a bunch of school children we started chatting amonst ourselves. One conversation in particular seemed to take precedent, and that was regarding the lack of ICBC insurence whilst racing, and then whether or not event organizers would cover your car in the worst case scenario. It essentially boiled down to "Some events should cover, but ICBC will never cover you. This is the point where Hugh found himself another hood for his monster Ferrari-Fiero as well. And finally, and in this one's opinion, the most touching and tragic part of the night, was saying good bye to good friend to everyone, Nigel. Nigel is heading back to Europe for a while to be with his family for a while, which made this his last "In-person" club meet (Though I hear we're working on a work-around to that as we speak). He delivered an absolutely touching speech, and promised to come back and see us eventually. For those of you interested, his Fiero (Featuring two sets of rims, and an absolutely divine motor) is for sale. If you're interested, please follow this link: http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?FID=2&a mp;TID=1663&PN=1&get=last Again, if you missed out, that's your loss, it was a hell of a night. Everyone was talking and having a good time, Hughe was trying to pick between carb or TBI, and Patrick informed me I am both exceptionally young, and unable to pronounce the word "Fiero" properly. Still. |

Oh indeed, thank you for that! Yes, for those who weren't there/didn't get the email, the Langley Cruise In is postponed, possibly indefinately. This is odd to many, as it respresents the third largest drive-in (Outdoor car show) in all of North America.

Heh heh, for anyone who hasn't heard Tristan say "Fiero", he pronounces it "Feeahrow". There doesn't appear to be any rational explanation as to where he picked up that wierd pronounciation. In regards to commenting on Tristan's youth, his age should come as no surprise to anyone aware of his taste in music, as discussed Here. For any club member who might be curious, Tristan is only 19 years old. Heck, I suspect the socks I wore to the club meeting are older than that! All kidding aside... Excellent club meeting summary, Tristan!

Tristan should consider a career in journalism. He did a fine job documenting our meeting.

Oh, why thank you. And Patrick, you'll notice a few discrepancies with the way I speak. I have a french accent which becomes noticable with certain words. I'll also instinctively pronounce Cavalier (As in the Chevrolet) Ca-va-lee-aye. |

No, the C still would make a "Kah" sound (Although, like english, there are exemptions) va would be unchanged, li would come across as you said, lee, and words ending in "er" are pretty universally an "aye" sound.
