Here is the start of my run planning. We'll start with this run and move on to the others.
I have personally done this run many many times. Early summer is probably best or it gets way too hot for most. I'll look into camping locations and the rates also. Here is the proposed route: The start-end point is the McDonalds just off the Freeway at Willington. The route is 574 Km's long. Approximately 6 1/2 hours of solid driving. So add some breaks and we could probably do it in under 8 hours without too much trouble. A camp out in the middle would be good too. I'll add more info to this message as I gather it. Thoughts? I'm down, as soon as I have my license again.

I've done this before. Warning....it's a long drive and you may encounter snow if you do this anytime between early October and mid May.
The roads are beautiful! |

So who wants to do this as a camping run and who wants to do it as a long day run. I'd say probably 12-14hrs with stops for food and re-grouping if we do it as a single day run. If we left at 8am, we could be back for 10pm.

You mentioned at the meeting that it could be our camping run. I think this is the best idea. So I'm going to vote for a 2 day run.
And yes, this one needs to be early spring/summer I think. The Dawg |

Here's the camp site I've chosen. It's right in Lillooet, right on the Fraser River. The rates are good and even wireless for Dave is included....bonus.

OK....I need a show of hands regarding this run, because there has been a couple ideas floating around.
One of course is just do whistler like we did last year, that was nice. Another is go past Whistler to Pemberton and back. Last but not least is my favorite. Do Whistler and while there do the Peak to Peak. Michelle and I did this a couple years ago and it was fabulous. We're planning on doing it anyway, but it would be fun with our Fiero friends. So....nothing has been decided. We're just talking. If there is enough interest the camping is still on. Then the Whistler people can still do their thing too. Lets talk it out....:) The Dawg |

I've decided to axe this run. Well sort of. It is being morphed into the Whistler run. I'll start a new thread now
