This is mainly pertaining to the Pontiac Show and Shine event and I thought I'd make this a separate thread because I think it deserves it.

I want to put a huge thanks out to Dave and Lisa for the immense amount of effort that went into getting everybody and everything organized for the show. I think it all went off without a hitch and we all made a great showing for our club. I'm not sure what else others put into it so please forgive me for not mentioning others' names. Maybe this can also be a thread for those that were noticed and deserve some thanks?

I especially want to thank both Marcel and Dave for their assistance with my car before the show. Some may not know but I had my near "in perfect shape" 88 GT hit by a hit and run at Harrison, they smashed in the door frame which made the lock unusable and required the whole door to be replaced. It was extremely upsetting to say the least. Dave was the first person I called and he got me figured out and calmed down. Lucky for me the club meeting was that day and Marcel was there to offer up a possible door that he had hanging around. Then of course there was all the support from each club member while talking about it at the meeting. Very encouraging that it could all be fixed up.

So, I got a perfect door from Marcel for a very reasonable price and a huge amount of time and help from Dave to get it on and in place working just perfect. We worked on the door just 3 days before the event.. Thank you very much Dave for your perseverance in getting the door to align just perfect for my picky taste. Without the two of you and the cheering on from the rest of the club to "get 'er fixed" I wouldn't have bothered to do so in time for the show and in turn wouldn't have had the honour of getting first place in the fastback class. That win was definitely attributed to the huge amount of extra effort from others.

I also can't leave out John Craker who made so many helpful and useful suggestions both in person and on the phone on how to get the door in place with the least amount of time and effort. I still need to return the spring compressing tool.. sorry, forgot all about it at both the meeting and the event! Thanks again John.

But really, the whole event was great, a huge congrats to all the award winners: John, Hugh, Shakey Dave and Ken. Makes me proud to be part of the club. Seems the Pontiac club was pretty happy to have us there too, great to see.

Graeme, it was a storybook ending to an unfortunate experience with you winning that award. Congratulations!

Yes, thanks to Dave and Lisa for the effort they put into Fiero club activities. It's always appreciated.

I would really like to personally thank all the "Members" that make this club possible.

There have been a lot of people in the club that have been able to help Lisa and I along the way and I am just glad to have been able to help people along the way.

Its nice to see that my final club event went off in a great way, showing people that it does not matter if you have a super stock coupe, or a highly modified super car, your not only a welcome member to the club, but if you "try" with whatever you have, you'll get recognition for it.

I would like to add my sincere thanks to David and Lisa for the good will and kindness they showed to me and my wife at the All Pontiac Show.

As many of you know, I suffer from progressive Parkinsons Disease which makes a lot of people nervous when I am around.  Lisa was the first to greet me when I arrived, with David being the second and many more club members (including a lot of Pontiac Performance people) following throughout the meet.  My shaking subsided for a while and we had a wonderful time.

Two weeks before the show, John Craker had the engine out of our car and he took the opportunity to clean it up a bit while working hard on lots of other various wounded mechanical systems.  Thank you John!

My wife and I worked several hours a day for the entire week before the show, cleaning and polishing and touching up and de-greasing the entire car until it shone like new (not an easy task for a PD patient). Thank you Joanne.

Finally the people at the show did me a great honor by selecting my car (which goes by the name of "Red Ryder") as first place in the notchback class.  What a rush!  Thank you everyone.

I love this club!!!!

Cheers

"Shakey" Dave
