my fiero i have is a 86 gt. what makes them a fastback? i really have no clue if mine is or isnt. its in ok shape good interior and what not.. still no idea how good this car is.. i know it was sitting outside for 3 years in the rain and snow in aldergrove on some farm in a field... bought it for 800 and after putting a new distributor in it it started up right away... noticed that all the underside and brakes have surface rust on them and could probably take it off with a wire brush but its winter and too cold outside to sit in my driveway and work on it. i need to set the timing on it as well as my alternator is hooped battery wouldnt hold a charge and realized after buying a new one that its the alternator with it out and sitting on my kitchen counter the car stays charged..lol i dont drive it and i dont have it air cared. its a work in progress. i have great plans for it if im able to get it all in good working order first.. i know that that the car has 396,000 km on it so its alot.. but i know the guy who owned it for 19 years before his friend who owned it passed away.. thats how i ended up with this car.. i am told it has a new clutch on it as well as it has fairly new tires.. i did take it around the block a few times but wasnt running that well could be because the voltage was too low from the dead alternator..

Surface rust on the rotors is normal and should fade away when you start driving the car.  As for the rest, I would just make sure the underside has no major rust going into the metal areas of the under carriage and you should be fine.   A bad alternator on a Fiero can cause all sorts of problems, so get that fixed asap.

Man, that car has nearly been around the world 10 times! Watch the Odo and get a photo of that!

The 2.8s seem pretty tough, good luck getting it rolling again. Make sure your tires are in really good shape before you do any long trips. Even in our fairly mild weather, I'm sure they don't age well outside.

Formula had special black and grey interior. They also had half round molding instead of the 84-86 notch backs. My understanding is that they essentially had GT interiors but grey and black and the gross 4 spoke square steering wheels with the paddle horn buttons. They also had a coupe body with GT mechanics. And the GT rims.

The formula's also have different part numbers for certain things, such as the doors. They don't look any different to me though.

If I'm wrong please correct me.
