Here is a list I found on the net, regarding what ECMs were what and what chips were what. Please note, 85ECM and Chips MUST STAY as 85. But all other years you can mix and match ECMs and Chips. You can install a complete 85ECM and Chip into a different car, but it has to be done as a package. You just can't install an 85 chip into an 86ECM or an 86chip into an 85ECM. V6 Applications
