Can someone explain how i short out the fuel pump to drain the tank? And i wanna circulate the oil before i fire up the engine after its been sitting awhile, whats the best way to do this? Someone said to turn it over by hand, but i have no idea how to do that.

You can apply +12 from a handy source (cig lighter for example) to one of the ALDL pins that's tied straight to the pump. You'll have to look it up - I don't have the dwg's in front of me.
As for the "pre-oiling". You can pull all the plugs, then with fresh oil & filter in it already, just hit the key for like 30 sec's. Wait a minute, hit again for 30 sec's, wait..... If you see fresh oil up at the head (take off the oil filler cap and look down) you're good to go. Other alternative is to make a pre-oiler from a dead distributor, etc etc.... |
