Something about this was mentioned during this months meeting, don't quite remember why but thought some people would be interested in watching.
500 Smith and Wesson. Not mine but the owner was kind enough to let me give it a shot. .50 caliber revolver, about as big as it gets. |

Aside from the cost of rounds, I would love to own one of those. If Lisa, Arianna and I ever move back to the USA, that would be high on my list of things to buy. Don't get me wrong, I know that for safety no one really needs anything more than a .38 or maybe a .45 (a 22 is useless unless you are just trying to piss the person off or you are letting a 10 year old girl learn to shoot, and don't want her to have to deal with the recoil of a big gun. I think thats one of the things I miss about living in the states was playing with guns on the odd weekend.
Oh and P.S. the topic came up while we were discussing the CMEC runs. |

Right.
Well you don't need to go to the states to have one, but it certainly isn't cheap. The guy who owns it lives in B.Cc and you can rent them at the indoor range in port coquitlam actually. I still want to fire a .50 desert eagle and see how they compare, he loads his own shells which are massive and I don't think anyone anywhere on the entire island didn't hear it go off, Galiano island. |

One of my teacher's used to own a .50cal Desert Eagle. He sold it off and bought the .44 instead. The .50 Action Express is such a stupidly over-powered round, you have ridiculous recoil, expensive shots, and you have to reload after just six shots. Change down to the .44, and the weight of the gun fights the recoil, the rounds are infinitely cheaper and you can pop off ten rounds before a reload. That being said, I want to shot it too. That, and the bolt-action Barret Industries M95 .50cal Anti-Material Rifle. |

I'm sure we could get enough of us together to go shooting one of these days. I also reload once in a while and have done some smithing too.
My shooting buddy moved to the interior last spring so haven't done much since then. We usually go to a small gravel pit near Mission to shoot in the spring and summer. This would be long arms only. You're not allowed to shoot hand guns just anywhere. If there's any interest lets make it happen. The Dawg |

Also, if there are people interested, the Justice Institute in New Westminster has a shooting range (With rentable weapons) and there's one in Coquitlam as well. |

Alright, and after we all learn to shoot, we all do Tristan's favourite sport - paintballing. If we can go while it's still cold out, it hurts more too. More adrenaline. |

Sounds like fun.
Tristen, where do you go paintballing? My friends and I try to go pretty regularly in the summer and went once last month. |

It's too darn cold to do any outdoor shooting right now. I don't know anything about the indoor situation.
What are the fees and do they allow rifles or do they only do 22's and handguns? The Dawg |

I have never been to the indoor range in poco other then for my PAL license so I don't know how it is.
I found their website though, no high powered center fire rifles. Pistols, shotguns and handgun caliber carbines only. Although they will rent out the .50 revolver... http://www.vancouvergunrange.ca/about-vancouver-gun-range.ph p |

I had been to badlands in Mission a few times, but my buddy brought me to a paintball field in North Shore, and it was only $10 for the whole day. Needless to say, I've been going there instead. lol |
