Patrick doesn't mind if no one wants to buy "his" seals.

I bought them for myself as I have multiple Fieros that need their front wheel bearings repacked. I just thought I'd mention earlier that I'll have some extra seals with me tomorrow which might save someone a trip to their own auto parts supply store.

It's now almost 11:30 am on Saturday and it's pouring rain here in Vancouver. I can't imagine it's much nicer in Langley.

Ummm.... I don't think it would be much fun to work all day in the cold and rain and then go to a club meeting tonight for dinner.

Comments, feedback?

You're not kidding me, are you?

Okay, I'll pack up and come out. I still need to stop by Walmart and Princess Auto for supplies though.

Except for it getting cold as soon as the sun went down (as much as it was blanketed behind clouds) - the weather nicely held out.  Ground was dry!

It turned out that checking and repacking my front wheel bearings was the perfect task to have chosen.

We discovered when we took off my front rotors that both bearing seals were not even attached to the rotors any longer.  This meant that the bearings were no longer being protected from dirt and water. Fortunately, all the bearings still looked okay, so they were cleaned up and repacked with Castrol Syntec grease. (Is that stuff ever thick!)

We also discovered that none of the brake caliper "sliders" were sliding any longer. They are now.

Thanks to John Craker for giving us all pointers on how to do the job properly.

Special thanks to Glenn for hosting the tech session at his place today, and added thanks to Glenn for being so helpful in getting my car back together to make it to the club meeting on time!

That's what I was thinking as well. Let's not wait until winter next year before we get together to "winterize" our cars!

Are you still trying to figure that out?

I use IrfanView for all my image resizing needs. Works great, price is right as well.

That's okay Glenn, getting a shot of Nigel's legs takes top priority at club affairs!

Oh, and we can't forget this unfortunate incident!

I think Nigel just likes taking breaks, he's always on his back at some point in a tech, with his legs either up in the air or stretched out in front of him.    Hmmm, I wonder if all those under car projects are really a excuse....   Hmmm.......    Ya know we love ya. Nig.
