Was it someone here who bought the '88 Formula Fiero?

1988 Formula Fiero - $1000 (Maple Ridge)

Date: 2010-06-13, 10:13PM PDT

I have a 1988 Pontiac Formula Feiro V6, manual transmission. The car has been sitting for 5 years but had new tires and brakes just before going off the road. The car also had an engine job and performance cam put in about 2 years before being taken off the road. The interior and body are in good shape, the engine just needs some work.

It's ok Wayne, we still respect you for who you are, Fiero or not.

...For now, anyways...

That car looks in good shape. Just a bit of cleaning inside and out.

Looked at the car almost 2 year ago.

Owner thought the engine is seized. Wouldn't let anyone turn it over even half a crank after letting penetrating oil sit for a week.

Gearbox was stiff, not letting the gears change and the clutch was shot. Or at least wasn't engaging.

Tires had lots of tread but were sun rot.

Exhaust manifolds were cracked.

Paint was VERY sun-faded as the car sat in the same spot outside for 6 years?

Interior was dirty, and faded.

2 years ago he wouldn't budge off $1000 and I wasn't prepared to buy it without even being able to see if the engine would spin by hand. Could be a cool car though if the engine wasn't seized as it's been bored out and has a more aggressive cam in it.
I wanna go fast.

Yeah, it's always interesting to find out what cars like these actually need, especially after they've sat for several years.

Someday I'll compile a list (which is still growing) of all the things that were required for my '84 Fiero which I bought non-driveable (towed it home) and then parked in my yard for five years.
