Greetings to one and all.

I am new to your forum, and your club.

Just recently moved back to Vancouver Island from Southern Alberta.

I currently own 2 1988 fiero's, a black GT with sunroof that came from Victoria when new with 70,000 ish kilometers on the clock. This car has all other options but the lumbar seats. (leather, subwoofer, power windows mirrors door locks, air, 5 speed manual, speed control etc.) Car is in good condition overall.

The other is a red Formula with lots of driving under the wheels. About 225,000 kilometers. This is to be my project car. Now that I am retired One of the things on my bucket list is to have a V8 fiero. After considering all the options for this swap for some time the way I would like to go is with the 5.3 LS4 from a late model Impala or other GM front drive V8. And since I will not drive an auto sports car I am about to order a set of G6 f40 6 speed transmissions off of Ebay. At $400 US each plus shipping these will be the least expensive part of this job. If anyone hear knows a better source for these let me know. If anyone else would like one this is the link.     http://www.ebay.com/itm/G6-6-Speed-Manual-Transmission-0-Mil es-F40-Trans-/330546593750?item=330546593750&vxp=mtr

The quote I have for shipping is $450 US for the 2 transmissions shipped on a pallet. If their is someone else who wants one right away and would like to combine orders to safe on shipping cost let me know. I am sure they would be happy to put 1 or 2 more on the pallet. I spoke to David Bergquist, AKA Capt Fiero on the subject yesterday and thinks he may see one of these in his future but is not ready for it just yet. So told him I would post the info for all those that may be interested. I plan to place this order early next week.

As one would expect with a project of this nature I will be looking for all kinds of bits and pieces. Any helpfull thoughts or suggestions are welcome. The best build thread that I have seen for this project is on Pennocks Fiero Forum. The builder calls himself the Fieroguru. This is the link.

Also I understand that someone in the club has purchased ZacBrowns 1988 GT 6speed N*. If you know all the bits and pieces that make up the drive axles I would love to have the info. I know that I read something about it on Pennocks forum, something about Cobalt SS parts Etc.

So the next big thing is to find a low mileage engine to use for the swap. No luck so far with the closest being in Edmonton but with to many kilometers and to high of an asking price. If their is anyone who knows how to get me set up with this then let me know.

Also if any one has any thoughts on a good customs broker let me know also. The company I used to work for used livingston brokers for all cross border shipping.

I know this might sound like a lot for the new guy to be taking on but you should all know that I have been working with these cars since 1996 and I am only new to your area and not to the hobby. Now that I am retired I have the time to play with my toys!

Thanks for any, and all feedback.

So many Fiero's, So little time.

I've used A&A customs brokers before. The office is right at the blaine
border crossing(did it all over the phone though).

This was quite a few years ago. Hopefully nothing's changed.
