So I finally broke down and got one, I have been eying them for a while, and after my Motorola V3i Razor decided even after warranty to give me trouble it was time to get a new phone.
So I picked up an HTC TYTN. http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wireless/products/phones/pro ducts_details.asp?shopperID=FQG4XSM44NDP8GH2D7XC8SFUX8Q8BUP6 &PRODUCTID=TYTNREN&summary=1
So far it is an awesome phone. Runs Windows Mobil Operating System, everything is upgradeable, heck when I could not get a video to play, I just went online downloaded an updated media pack for it and then it worked. I am having some issues getting it to play nice with Shaw Email though, it works fine with gmail, but I guess the shaw network won't let you access there pop3 servers from any device outside of its own network. I am going to have to find and setup an MS Exchange server and route my primary emails through there. But even just using Gmail I can check and respond to club emails as well as chat emails on the go.
Now back to the reason for this post.
How much Data do you use in a month.
I am trying to justify the size of the data plan I should be on. I am on some sort of Starter plan for the moment which I know won't be enough. Average I plan to download about 20 emails a day and respond to about 5, use MSN Messenger for a few hours at least. Spend an hour a day on websites. (no heavy graphics pages) So how much do you use, and maybe more importantly what is your monthly service charges. With Rogers in the entry level plans its $21 per MB, but one level up is only $7mb and it does get cheaper the higher the plan. I am thinking I am going to use between 10 and 20mb per month. Which Is around 60$ on top of my normal cell phone plan of 100 per month. Anyone else have any input on what you get for what you are paying for.

In general, ALL the cell phone companies monitor your usage. If you you're not sure, start with your best guess without going over. As soon as you even get close to going over just once, they will be calling to upgrade your plan. One of the cell phones I have is a pay n talk plan at Telus. I rarely go over $10 a month, but they have been trying to lock me in to a plan that would cost me $25 a month because I went over once. Our Fido phone is set to a $20 for 200 minutes a month plan. As soon as we get over 150 minutes (which we did twice) Fido is calling us to upgrade. So have no fear.
