Who here wants me to go back to repairing Fieros?
Now, this wouldn't be a full time thing like 'before'. Basically, there's been a slow down at work (whoa! big surprise to the whole world?!) and I need to take up some slack. I would probably be available the first few, and last few days of each month. I'll no doubt this time go beyond the scope of just P bodies, as that was a failure last time, and well... you're supposed to learn from your mistakes. ;) Thoughts?? |

I think this would be a good thing for you, as long as it's something you enjoy and not annoying.

Yep would be a great idea, that way I could send all the jobs that I question getting into your way. LOL. I honestly can't count the amount of people I get calls from looking for honest mechanic that knows how to work on a Fiero. I think it'll be great if you can keep it as a secondary income. So you are not counting on people being there and paying you to cover your expenses.

enjoyment factor before. No more 23hr days, sometimes 7 days a week (yes - those both did happen!). My day job will remain TOP priority above all.I've got to clean out my shop in a big way, but after that's done I'll let you all know. Hopefully inside the next month tops.p.s. -- I realize there a bunch of repeat visitors, but.... ~300 views and only 19 votes??? Just click it, people! |

Maybe a collector plate restore project...lol. With buying a new home, not sure if I'll be racing much if any this summer, my car is just sitting with insurance...sad:(. I agree with David...so many of us love to work on our cars and learn...then there are some that due to space, knowledge, equipment, etc...would prefer to pay someone to have quality work done to our specialty cars...which is what they are becoming...as long as your rates are fair:)...I am sure your neighbours hope not to see a collection of cars in your driveway also:)

Count me in! I too am searching for someone whom I trust and who is not too busy on other projects, to do some work on my cherished 85 GT. We will have to work on some logistics though as I live in North Vancouver and my Fiero is my daily (and only) driver! Any idea when you will be starting up and what your rates will be??

Most of the things I'm going to be able to tackle will only be from an hour, to a few days at most. I won't be able to have people drop their cars off here for a week or more at a time as was happening before (heh - or the odd thing that took 6-8 months!!!). So in your case, depending on what you wanted done, you'd have to either kick back and wait for it - or have someone follow you to give you a ride back out. I've had people get followed by a spouse etc, and they run off and hit the mall for the day, or do whatever. Then I just give you a call when it's all done. Basic rate this time around will be less than before at $40/hr. Still about 1/3 what a dealer might charge (and lets face it - most of them don't even know what a Fiero is anymore! Or what a Pontiac is in another year or so... :D ) As for when I'll start things up again.... I need to do a MAJOR overhaul (read: throw out lots of junk) of my shop and house here. If you can get me a major deal on a dumpster, well.... it'll just be that much sooner! It'll be sooner than later though. Few weeks? |

I haven't had a full system check and (synthetic) oil change since the last time you looked at it (at least a few years now). But then, I haven't driven my car much either. But I need to get my car aircared and pictures taken for collectors plates at the end of this year (plates in January) so will definitely hope you are back up and running soon.

I'd be all over that. Even though my car has been highly modified it is astill a Fiero at heart and there are some things that the guys who built it will not understand now that Chris has left B & N hotrods

Hehe. Tried giving you some work, Doc, but from what I hear you're already got your hands full! Nice to see you getting alot of business, I suppose especially with the Arlington run coming up, there's quite the rush for everyone to get ready.

Never shift into reverse without a back-up plan.
