Messing around on eBay as I tend to do I noticed this

This is at least the third time it's been on eBay and it's also on http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/1374132049.html - Craigslist locally . A little birdy told me he'll sell it for $6000.
By the way, here's a picture of it that he doesn't use in his eBay description.
I kid you not. That is the interior. Look at the dash!
I think he'll be waiting a long time to get $6000 for this Fiero.

Interesting. This ad just appeared in the local Buy&Sell...
I emailed the person and asked if they had lowered the price or if it was a misprint. Here's their response...

Hi, Thanks for being interested in buying my car! It`s in perfect condition,no scratches, damages and never been implicated in any accidents. It has only 200,000 km and the price is $2,800 CAD.It comes with a new set of winter tires and it has never been smoked in.Because of my divorce settlement,i own this car and as a woman without driver`s license i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible(that`s why i`m selling it so cheap). We will use eBay`s Vehicle Purchase Protection plan for our both safety,i want only legit transactions.Let me know where are you located and any other details you need about it. Have a great day! |
Because I knew the interior was thrashed, I asked the following...

I'm very interested. It looks great. I can pay cash. What condition is the interior? |
Notice that my question is just simply ignored...

Hi again, I`m located in Montreal(the car is here with me) right now because i got a new job here, the thing is i`m very busy and i don`t have time to stay and meet with all my potential buyers, that is why i gave to a shipping company that will ship it to the next owner(on my cost), so i'm trying to sell it online under eBay`s protection. Here is how it works : The sale will be managed through eBay under their Vehicle Purchase Protection program since they offer the highest rate of safety and reliability during online transactions. They act as a neutral third party. Look how this works: 1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal. 2. They will email us the forms which are needed for our deal(invoice, payment instructions, buyer's and seller's protection policy) 3. You will send the money to eBay and they will notify me to ship the car to your location. 4. After you will inspect the car and decide to keep it, eBay will forward the funds to me once you have approved them to do so. You will have 5 days to inspect it. Please reply with your complete name and shipping address in your next email and let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so that I can open a transaction at eBay and to move forward with this deal. After that they will contact you with all necessary information about this transaction(terms, buyer protection, payment instructions,invoice,etc.).
P.S. Please don`t forget to send me your full name and address. |
Yep, total bullsh*t. I thought I'd have some fun though. I'll see what the asshole says to this...

I've reported this dirt bag to the Buy&Sell so they can pull the ad. I really hope there's a special place in Hell for scammers to burn.
I can't believe this, the asshole sent me another response while I was getting ready to post this.

Just for fun I ran a google search for the "Help" phone number listed in the BS invoice above. A search for 403-627-7619 turned up this interesting information. Read the posts http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-408-627-7619 - Here . [EDIT] As of Nov 10th, people are still being scammed by these same bastards!
Then I googled 713-583-8130, the fax number listed above. Read http://www.ripoffreport.com/Auto-Shipping-Companies/Miranda-Martinez-and/miranda-martinez-and-harry-pil-4944b.htm - This . Unbelievable that someone would actually fall for this nonsense.
With all the documentation that can be found on these bastards, how the hell do they continue to be in "business"? Why aren't con artists like these in jail?

Yes Patrick, it's another conspiracy. I know your 'retard' comment didn't go over very well with everyone a while back. I'm not here to sling mud, just a subtle recommendation that not everything that bugs you is internet worthy. I'm sure Red Willey's life will go on after you used his screen name it's just a matter of being sensitive to people who may not be as callous as you. Craigslist mostly bothers you, we know that. Scammers and many things on eBay bothers you too, we know that as well. How about using all that energy and spare time of yours for better endeavours? Your slowly developing a 'sky is falling' reputation. Letting stuff slide will lower your blood pressure so you can live longer and enjoy Fieros longer. Think of it as a win-win situation.

The more I think about what you've said, the more ignorant I feel your comments are.
This is a forum. This is where people are supposed to discuss things, usually Fiero related. If I see a pattern where the same type of Fieros (usually GTs) are being advertised on Craigslist for low prices and no one ever gets a response when they contact these "sellers", then I feel it’s worthy of discussion here.
So what the hell is YOUR problem with that?
This would be a rather dead forum if everyone here had your posts per day rate.
Buddy wrote:

This is the first I've heard about it. I would imagine the only person upset with me saying that might be the retard(s) posting those fake ads.

I appreciate your intentions of informing others of potential malcontent and if there is a post/topic I think is stupid or overplayed I just skip it.
