It's amazing what a $400 paint job and $1000 worth of tires and
wheels can do :-).  nope didn't alter picture none.

...near dead when i found it - about $500 worth of mechanical
maintenance to get her running.  Motor seems sound, barely burns
oil, tranny shifts fine but clutch is a bit touchy.  Still needs a bit of
bushing work on the rear end (noticeable if you go too hard) but still
drivable.  cheers!

Hey, looks great!

How has the car been lowered?

very fast cutoff saw.

Thanks.  I know I know...but it rides completely fine. ;-)  It doesn't
bounce and is sort of stiff.  About 1.5 off rear and about 1 off front.
give or take...

Here's a couple pics of the color before the clear.

Sort of reminded me of 24K gold dust.  Sure glad the clear coat changed that.    I only wish the clear went on as nice and easy as the color.

Cheers

I know there has been a lot of interest in your paint job.  Thanks for posting up those pics.  I have a new appreciated to the time it takes to do a good masking job.

Excellent paint job. I am quite impressed. How did you
manage to paint her up for $400 if you don't mind my
asking?

Thanks. The costs I am referring to are the cost for the
paint and the clear coat material, including tack off
cloth, painting coveralls, mixing/measuring containers.
I had a $90 canadian tire spray gun and my friend had the
hi volume (30 gal) compressor and garage (lucky for me
). Otherwise I spent a few days sanding and filling
(You can never do enough sanding and filling!!) and I
should have done much more but was overly excited to try
it - and considering the hasty job I am very pleased with
my first shoot. Otherwise the costs don't include my
time (sanding and painted in one day) and cost of sand
paper
Cheers
oh ya - and a bunch of tape (cheap) and paper was free.

Just wanted to say 'see ya around.'   It was good to meet all of you, but now my passion has switched back to the 2 wheeled version and thus onto other forums and clubs.

I hope you all find safe roads to the future and find a way to get along.

Who knows I may even peek in at a meet sometime to see what's what.  Unless I am now completely banned for selling my car.

Cheers!
