239 easy steps in only 6 hours!

Step 1: Realize that you have a fitment "issue" (note header trying to go through trans)

Step 2: chop out wedges and bits

Step 3: Fab up insert bits from sheet metal and pipe

Step 4: Find that round pipe with dimples just don't conform to "D" ports shape

Step 6: Proceed to heat and beat pipe by hand until it cooperates.

Step 7 through 239: Proceed to weld, grind, reweld, regrind, until the pipes are smooth (which these aren't yet) then get it re-coated

Easy, right!

God I've been there Bro.....tons of finicky adjustments and precision welding.....

NOT easy for sure.

This is one of the reasons our club is so great, the talent available to members for upgrades or just keeping her on the road is vast.

You're one heck of a talented guy John.  I'm impressed.

Great job!

Well, been a while so...

Here's a quicky pic of the whole 'family' of pipes making up the whole exhaust system.
Tell ya - it gives me an even greater level of respect for the exhaust shop guys that do this stuff day in day out - and they have to do it on a complete and assembled car!

Everything below is now sitting at the coaters getting redone.  Should look awesome when it's all back in place and tied together (there's a surprise attached to that BTW!).

All of the above (with the exception of the wifes shoe in the corner, and to an extent the headers) was hand fabbed, right down to the muffler.

Wow - you step away from the computer for 15hrs to get a much needed nights sleep and look what happens....

(Now edited for political reasons ) - and this will be my last post on the whole project.
