Brothers and sisters, next meeting is October 9th at the same ABC in Langley we always attend, same time. Topics to be discussed include the awesomeness that is Autocross, Halloween and whatever else floats our boat. I will let Patrick get this out via mailing list, and provide more specifics, but given that this is our first meeting (That I know of) where David and Lisa will not be there to stabilize us, it should be an interesting experience all around.

Well, I stated in http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2116&PN=1&FID=10&PR=3 - David's thread that I'd post the info on Monday. I'll give you credit for taking the initiative, but I'll have to deduct points for jumping the gun and then posting misleading info.

It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it.

Problem is, "Question to all..." is only a question to those who may actually be visiting this thread.

In other words, response to this question posted here won't actually give us much of an indication of who may or may not be planning to attend the meeting.

And if by chance, what if there was an overwhelming response that few people were going to attend? Then what?

Perhaps there should've/could've been some club discussion about possible options as soon as it was realized last week that David and Lisa wouldn't be here this weekend AND that it was also going to be a long weekend.

David has always been adamant in the past about not postponing meetings, no matter what. With five days notice, I personally don't think this is the time to be possibly considering it.

However, let’s hear some membership feedback on this. The sooner the better!

Will be no reason I cannot make it - unless plans change...any excuse to produce more CO, HC and NOx.

I would suggest just make it an official unofficial meeting where whoever shows up can talk and eat or whatever.  To take the pressure off just pick up the rest of it at the next meeting.

I think it'll be a tough sell trying to re-schedule with the restaurant, and re-organize our brothers here. This is besides the fact, as you pointed out, we may actually lose more members going that route.

Hey Guys and Gals, I think Kevin's idea of keeping the meeting date and just doing it a little less formal than normal.  As Tristan mentioned trying to change the date will probably result in even less members showing up at the alternate date than we would end up with having it on the long weekend as planned.  There are (in my opinion) enough members that don't have other family, and or are just a couple of 2 and like the idea of going out for Thanksgiving dinner instead of cooking at home.

However honestly its really up to you guys and what you want to do.  Just make sure that if you do decide to change the date, that you email it out and try to let me know so I can do a batch email to all forum email addresses.  There are a lot of members that are not on the email list and don't' check the forum that often, so its kinda hard to let everyone know, but I'll do my best to forward the info on.

P.S. Even down here in Oregon, I managed to find a Fiero to work on, one of the local Portland Fiero guys and his wife invited Lisa and I over for dinner and we spent a bit of time outside installing lowering springs on an 84 Coupe that he is fixing up to sell.  (his main Fiero his an 85GT Fastback with a Getrag 5spd and 4.9 Caddy swap)

Fastback WIN, baby!

I have no problem with whatever the club decides, I just think from a logistics standpoint keeping the date seems more beneficial.

I just had an email and have a funeral now to attend on Saturday, plus a dinner, so if anything changes I will advise, otherwise it doesn't look like we will make it.

Cheers, Brian

It's unfortunate that we're going to miss a few people this Saturday, but it's probably best if we keep it simple and stick to the original meeting date.

Dave, I'll send the email notices out tonight before I go to bed.

So Tristan, do you have access to anything we normally have at the front desk at our meetings, as was discussed in http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2116&PN=1&FID=10&PR=3 - Dave's thread ?

And Johnny, could you please bring your camera and take a few shots?

...No.

I actually hadn't though about how I was going to set everything up. Does anyone happen to have the number of their house (So I can perhaps phone Tim) and grab the stuff tomorrow? If not, I still have paperwork and all that.

I need to get a hold of Tim also.  He thinks I'm going to be at the meeting and will be bringing stuff for me.

I don't think I've ever had "the house" number and I don't think Tim has a cel phone.

Anyway, if anyone reads this in time I would like "the" number also.

Thanks,

The Dawg

Tim Cell  604-864-7778  (abbotsford number so dial accordingly)

Home 604-584-7717

The Red club bag is at the front door of the house ready to go.  Lisa set it up before we left, just to make sure that regardless of who was taking it, it would be easy to find.  Tim was suppose to be bringing it, that is assuming he is still going.

Have a Fun Meeting and take lots of pics.

If we let a little rain bother us, half our meetings would need to be cancelled.
