Well that was a fun day.

Started out freezing cold with the entire pad literally a giant ice rink. Organizers debated canceling the even if things didn't warm up. Fortunately they did.
Did 2 practice runs each in the morning while things were still pretty slippery then got a whole 6 more runs in the afternoon. Not sure what all my times were because again, they didn't have the box working right and didn't announce many over the PA system but I think it was 39.xxx on a pretty short course.

They got rid of a couple cones at the very end and moved the stop box up a bit to reduce the chance of someone losing grip and sliding into other cars.

Pics and Videos later

That was lots of fun, as always. I liked the course, I was able to maintain a decent speed through the whole thing so my car's lack of power wasn't as much of a factor.

After having the sway bar on the car, then taking it off for a couple events, and now having it back on, I can safely say that my car is much more fun to drive with it in (when I put it in the first time I wasn't able to tell a difference, now I can). That's enough of a reason to keep it.

I'll have a video up shortly of my fastest run, which is something like 41.6 seconds.

Didn't hit any cones this time, I must have been driving too cautiously.

It's worth noting that the times went way down when the last run group (which neither of us was in) went since the track started drying fairly rapidly by then. The best time before then was I think either in the 35's or 36's.

This was just posted, too:

If you've purchased a 2011 CACC license, though, don't fret! Many local clubs (including the UBCSCC) have been approached by the ASN and CACC with the intent of hosting regional competitive events in the coming spring and summer months. A CACC license is still required to participate in these events. As the season ramps up and schedules are finalized, we'll keep you apprised with a list of all events (regional, local, closed, etc...)

Thanks,
James
