Hey everyone.

It's getting close to the Chocolates Run so I thought I would chime in.  I'm going to contact Blair and confirm the details with him.  As I get the info I'll pass it on here and update the sticky note also.

Here's the meeting location:

More to come soon.

OK everyone, Blair says be there for 12:00 noon.

So, this Saturday Feb 12th at 12:00 at the chocolate house...:)  Blair will lead the pack through the country side.  He knows this area very well.

The idea here is to go on the run and then head to the club meeting at Ricky's afterwards.

Enjoy!

So I gotta ask, just for clarification if nothing else... Rain or shine?

Having done this run twice before (on dry days), I'm really hoping it's not raining as we've gone, ahem... rather fast on those twisty back roads.

That's actually a pretty damn good point, Patrick. I have been driving quite a bit lately (Unless you're an officer, then I haven't), but I've been following the speed limits in a ritualistic fashion, as the last thing I need is to bring unnecessary attention to myself (This is besides the fact that Gretchin's suspension is more or less gone). If we're going to be flying, I'm going to have to sit this one out and simply meet you guys at the meeting instead...

I would say phone Blair on the day if it's really coming down.  The phone number is above in the image.

I'm sure he's good to go either way.

I'm planning on attending the Chocolate Run on Saturday and I'll be bringing Anne (Frankie's true owner) with me for the first time to a Fiero club function.

I'm interested in hearing how many other members are committed to attending the event.

We don't want to be the only ones there!

Tristan, it's forecast to be wet and therefore we probably won't be racing through the twisties all that fast. Does that mean that you'll then be able to come out to the run?

Yes, yes it does.

By the way, Patty, I took your advice on perhaps going to the media, and almost as a metaphorical middle-finger, told ICBC I would be doing as such...

Hey, look at that! My license got sent to me! Free of charge!

Well, so far we've got Tristan and myself who've commited to this.

I can't speak for Tristan, but it hardly seems worthwhile to do a club run with two club members, three including Blair.

I'd have to leave here by 11 am to make it to Fort Langley by 12 noon. I'm hoping to see some more responses here before 11 am then. Otherwise, I guess I'll just forget about it and stay home.

Yes, we need to see some answers, I'm with Patty. I like the old guy, but just us two is more of a commute than a club meet.

Come on people, step up!

You're assuming most people frequent this site regularly.  Not likely.

I would say meet at the chocolate house and buy some goodies and maybe eat some goodies and if not enough people show up to have a run then head home.

Still a good excuse to go for a drive.

You'd kick yourself if you stayed home and found out the run happened without you.

Just my two pence.

I'm at the disadvantage of not having been at the last meeting and therefore not knowing what the proclaimed interest was for this particular run.

I don't belive this run was ever posted on the email list.  So I don't know how many people even know about it.   I am personally watching the forum and the weather.   Lisa and I will have to bring 2 cars (Fiero and Blazer) with Arianna, and we really don't want to haul everything out if there is not going to be much of a turnout.  Being as I am so close, I still might leave them at home and just buzz out in my car alone, but that remains to be seen.

As I remember it, Dave crossed off all the ideas that got too little response that night.

I thought I saw at least 4 hands go up for this one.

Well, with Dave, that would be 5 of you confirmed. (Including Blair)

Our Car just isn't up to it but we'll be at the meeting.

ps. Dave, I'll be bringing the hubs I owe you.

One of my concerns with being out there by 12 noon (if there really isn't a club run) is that Anne and I would then have six hours(!) to kill before the club meeting in the evening (as we wouldn't be coming back into (Vancouver).

Keeping in mind the number of hours between events, it would make more sense (from my perspective) to go out to Fort Langley at 2 pm. However, I realize that might not work for Blair.

I see what you're saying Patrick.

However, there's lots to see in Fort Langley and you could always head to 200th and pop into the theater for a quick movie before the meeting.

If Michelle had not been working this afternoon that is what we were going to do.

Just an idea...:)

I've decided since this is still up in the air (and it's now pouring rain), that Anne and I will drive out to Fort Langley at 2 pm. If there are other club members there at that time, great, we can socialize. If not, Anne and I will have a coffee and some chocolate and check out the rest of the township before eventually heading off to the club meeting.

There is also Willowbrook Mall at aprx 200th street and 62nd Ave, which is a nice place to check out.  Its a rather unique layout for a mall.

Okay...so what is the final executive decision on this chocolate run? Is it happening today? And at what time? If it's at 2pm, I may be able to make it! Who are all going?

Where exactly do we meet? Somebody get back to me please!

All the meet info is at the top of this thread.  Go to the first message and all will be revealed....:)

It's too late to cancel or change it now I think.  There may not actually be a run is all.  It may turn out to be a pre-meeting coffee and chocolate thing.  Get together, hang out, talk about the sh*ty weather.  You know?

If the run doesn't happen, I'm sure there will be people around at 2:00.  If we know your going to be there at that time I'm sure Patrick can keep an eye out for ya.....hey Patty?

Lisa and I are heading out now, at 11:30 we have a bit of shopping to do and getting some lunch, so I won't be at my computer.  We will shoot for a 2pm time for the Chocolate shop.   If something goes crazy my cell number is 604-807-2623 or Lisa's cell 604-897-1465

Not actually sure what time I'm going to make it there. So don't wait for me. If I arrive and you guys are already gone, I will just have a coffee or something .

I tried to get me and my cold off the couch  but when i found my car had the glove box turned inside out , it sort of added to my already cloudy feeling and then i just figured i best not risk infecting anyone else with this horrible bug.  Hope the Chocolate is great and meeting is abundant!

Since it seems everyone will be a little later, we will be wandering
around for a bit, although I'm in the parking lot across the street.

Somehow or another (I don't know how ), I didn't realize a second page had developed in this thread since I last posted hours ago.

Anyway, Anne and I will be leaving from Dunbar in a few minutes. It'll take us a good hour to get out there. See you all then...

Well John, let's just say that everyone who turned up could've fit in Anne's Ford Taurus wagon. Unfortunately, I'm not kidding.

It was an ugly day for a "run", so the few of us who did turn up simply "sat".

On the positive side of things, it was good to meet Boxin' Robin and his wife. Both are very nice people and I hope they make it out to (better attended) future club functions.
