Maybe I should get a one day permit and come out in my '94 Elantra then.

I see a slight scheduling conflict has arisen, but I suppose that's bound to happen almost no matter what date is chosen.

] OK everyone.

I'm going to propose a go cart meet on Sunday Feb 27th.  On the calender of events we've got a suggestion for the 26th.  I'm thinking we do the go carts instead on Sunday which is the cheap price day.

Is that good for everyone?  If not, Ken was willing to move his fish and chips run later in the year so we could do it then.  It too would have to be on the Sunday.

If I don't hear otherwise it will be on the 27th.  There's more than enough interest to make it a blast.

If we want to race together we need to get there at 5:00PM to fill out the liability forms and pay up.  The Cheap races start at 6:00PM.

We discussed the scheduling conflict at the meeting. I am usually home in Burnaby by around 5 after an AutoX day with fun runs. So if someone wants to do both there is still plenty of time :P

I have midterms the next day, so I will have to miss out on that but will still be autocrossing.

I'm still going. As long as it's not snowing, any snow on the track would
disapear quite quickly after a few runs anyway. I don't wanna race in
snowies.

Looks like my fiero didn't wanna go autocrossing today :( I think it's
the alternator, batteries good but my voltage has been around 10 on
the gauge and goes down from there with lights etc.

My Sunday mornings are usually committed. But one of these days, I'll surprise you all and make out, if not actually race, to watch.

I suspect there are a few Southerners in the States who figure our autocross events look that way all year round.

Bring out the dog sleds!

Thought I would expand a bit on the concept.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, we've had a discussion about the event and have come up with a solution:

Yesterday's time split, even between heats in the afternoon, was too great to justify any kind of fair scored tally.  In lieu of scoring the best 4/6 events, we will retain the best 5/7 by adding an 8th Slush event, as we've done in years past with snowy AutoX events ( http://forum.ubcscc.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2848 - http://forum.ubcscc.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2848 ). This is certainly by no means an unheard of circumstance.

I understand this has raised some ire with a few of the attending members yesterday.  It was however stated at the outset, before any runs were taken, that this was to be an unscored event that would not count towards series points.  Some attendees took off immediately following this announcement.  For those who stayed, we stated explicitly that this was a day of timed fun-runs.

In spite of yesterday's lack of scoring, we're still running a full Slush Series as we set out to do in the first place.  There are prizes to be won and we want to keep it fair, but rather than cancelling the event, in the spirit of UBCSCC, we held a fun snow event and hope our membership thinks that was a better decision than canceling outright.

I look forward to seeing you all out at Slush 7 and 8!

Thanks,
James

So it appears there is another Slush race since this one was not scored. Which is good for me since it is the only one I couldn't make. (both my alt and battery are shot)

March 27th is the date for slush 8
