I'm a newbie.  I just purchased a Ferrari 308 replica based on a 1986 Fiero V6.  Long term I want to convert this thing into a street legal rocket.  Eventually I want to swap in the Corvette LT1 and a matching 5 or 6 speed transmission.  I figure I'll start slowly (due to finances).  First I find the ride real rough and low.  Any suggestions on a suspension pakage to give it a more supple ride?  I do plan to drive it year round.  How about an hydraulic system so I can raise it in winter for the few times we get snow!!

Figure out what shocks it's got in it.

For example, if it's got the HD KYB's - a softer set will...  well... soften things up!

If it's got Suspension Techniques springs in it - a stock set will give you a better ride (at the cost of elevation).

I would add to that, an 88 Rear Cradle Swap and stick with 60 seris tires.

The car only has 4 1/2" of ground clearance and I can't get under it to see the kind of springs/shocks the car has.  OK now I have to be honest.  I am not a do it yourself kind of guy and I have no intention of doing the work myself. I live in Surrey and I was hoping someone in the group could refer me to a shop where I could trust them to do a good job.  I don't mind paying a premium for a good job I'm a big believer in you get what you pay fo

For the suspension work, go talk to Darrel at Dales alignment in Langley.

Tell him John from the club sent you (!).

He'll probably be able to give you an idea of what's in there now, and might have some suggestions as to what you can do.

Try not to put stock springs back in there, as it'll really change the stance, and make it look goofy.
