Well, my 454 TBI broke off a piece of it's throttle body (Frigging pot metal...)

I realize it's a long shot, but does anyone out there have a TBI from a 305, 350 or 454 they wouldn't mind parting out, I'd really appreciate it. I'm losing my god damn mind with the stupid things.

The 454's are different.  Bigger bores.
(unless it's some part that's common to them all)

Anyhow, I have a few here in various states.

Send me a pic of exactly what you're looking for.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. Give me half a sec, I'll go snap a pic of what I mean...

John don't forget you are still trying to find enough parts to set one aside along with an intake manifold for the vortec heads I got from you.  (To swap onto Lisa's 305.  LOL, granted if we move to Oregon, there is no emmissions testing in Aurora. However the better gas milage over a bad carb would sure be nice.

Ok, here we go.

You'll have to pardon the JB weld, I needed something to keep all the parts together for the picture. The injectors go in up top, and down below is where the governor sits. There's another bit that goes up top as well, but I have three working bits of them...

Oh that reminds me Romeo, you and Patrick missed the most valubale part to that duke.  The Throttle body and injector.  That injector alone is worth more than the entire engine.  I'll send Patty a PM or email if he is no longer checking his PM's here.

I think the old dork is, but I haven't really tried in a little while... I'll try sending him an email. He tends to check those with more frequency.

Colby may have a throttle body and injector or 2 for a duke (if that is what we are talking about). Tristan, have you tried the auto wreckers yet? or craigs list for a "part out" somewhere?
can your part be welded from the outside?

It's terrible pot metal, and I'm concerned about welding it as the gasket for the injectors resides within. That being said, I am going to try that tomorrow if I can't get another. Haven't tried the autowreckers, as the vehicle I need to go there with is the one currently lacking in the fuel department...

Dave, I'm not sure why you'd think I wasn't reading/responding to PMs here?

Regarding the TB, the reason why it got left behind was because as soon as the boy wonder and I got the engine in Johnny's van (which I borrowed, but Johnny wasn't there), Tristan mentioned about dropping him off at home on the way back to my place. I asked him how the heck I was supposed to get the engine out of the van and into my carport by myself!

Anyway, I finally convinced Tristan that he had to come to my place to finish the job. In the process, the TB was forgotten.

Dave, could perhaps Tim bring it to the next meeting (if you're not going to be there)? Thanks.

Ah, so that's why Tristan kept asking about candy!

Patrick after the whole Autocross thing, I wasn't sure if you were going to be reading the forum much, that is why I was not sure if you would be responding to PM's.  However yes I can give the Throttle Body to Tim.  I am still not sure if I am going to be in town next weekend.  My last day at work is Friday the 2nd.  Then I am off for 2 months before I have to be back at work.  (Yes my company loves me that much that they are going to hold my position for me)

And Tristen I don't see why properly applied and sanded JB weld would not work.  I have used that stuff to seal up and re-attatch cast parts before.

Aw hell, it's just a differing of opinions. It'll blow over.

That's great to hear. They want you back, as do the rest of us.

This is coming from a huge fan of JB Weld - but I don't want to entrust my fuel system to the stuff. Should anything happen, it'll be pissing fuel over top of a hot motor. I just feel a touch more secure with a new part. I found one from my brother-in-law, so I should be good.

So you are a sensible boy after all. That kind of blows your whole persona.

Shh. Don't alert the others to my secret. There is occasionally a glitter of logic in my thought process.
