My new slave cylinder has oil all around the bleeder valve. It's not thick, just looks like it's sweating. It's about 2 inches across. It' won't go away. However the master cylinder is not leaking or showing any signs that it's losing fluid. Just wondering if this is normal? I'm having troubles getting the rod to move the 1.15 inches. Do you guys have any ideas? I've heard of putting a longer rod in, would this help.

Thanks Andrew

Oh BTW the clutch isn't releasing. It's only traveling about 3/4 of an inch. Would this mean I have air in my lines and or a bad slave cylinder?

Well depending on what you have replaced, I would install a new slave first, then a new master and use a stock rod for the slave.  I ran an Isuze 5spd on my 4.9 Caddy V8 in my Fiero for years without issue and the Isuzu requires the most travel in order to shift correcly.

If you have not used a power bleeder on it, I would think about renting one or borrowing one.
