Wheel Spacers...
1/ Is there any reason why I should not put wheel spacers on the 14" back wheels of my Fiero?
2/ What size should should I use?
3/ Does anyone have a set (2) that they want to sell?

Wheel spacers put added stress on your bearings. If you don't run the
car hard it should be fine. Otherwise, bearing replacement will be in
your future.
Make sure you don't rub the outer tire on the wheel lip. Inch and a half
spacer is ok I think.

Sounds OK to me. Assuming that you are still doing work for club
members ... how much do you think you would charge me for installing a complete set of the Grand Am brakes that you have been talking about on the forum,
plus mounting the spacers on the rear wheels (I've decided on 1" ones) ,
plus checking the front and rear bearings (replacing if necessary),
plus rebuilding the driver's side headlight assembly? I will purchase
the spacers and the headlight rebuilding kit from the States if you
can't get them.
The work should be done around April 15th unless you have a date that is better for you. It sounds like a 1 day job to me.
Let me know if you can do it, otherwise I will buy the brakes from you and get another buddy of mine to install everything.

I've run 2" spacers on my Firebird for about 30,000 kms and
never had a problem. Best thing to do is get a spacer
that's hub-centric and has a hub-centering ring. Also if
you're going to get a thick spacer you can get ones that
bolt on and have their own studs. The ones I run on my
Firebird are bolt-on but are not hub-centric.
I would avoid slip-on spacers that aren't hub-centric and
if you do get slip-on spacers it would be best to get
longer studs as well. Changing studs is pretty easy to do.

Well thanks for the offer Dave. I am just not setup for it anymore. I can
supply you with the hubs as the mobile shop is operational but really
can't commit to much outside mechanical.
The headlight motors I have done several times. It is a big job to do
properly. If you had Dickman's kit in hand I would need $150 to install
it.
The front hubs that you need are $100 exchange. I need your old front
rotors to make a new set for the next guy.
If you run into a snag just ask and I will come and help.
