Most of you know this, but just a reminder for those of you inclined to work on your cars. SAFETY FIRST.

Here is a recent video of Shawn who is (was?) transplanting a SBC (Small Block Chev) into a Miata. In his
excitement of trying to get the motor to start, he made every possible wrong decision to make and...well, you see
the result.

I love how he is still trying to start it even when it's on fire.

Gas cap seems relatively minor now, seeing as how I spent this morning saving my K&N from a small engine fire, burning my hand in the process.

Ok, now I'm fairly certain it is a fuel issue.

it really is not that scary if you have been on fire more than once...

i have no less than 2 extinguishers in my garage to answer the call.

stop drop and roll works well enough though...

lol

Heh heh, that's right Gary... you have a "history" regarding fire as well.

Ironically, it was Tristan (alias Romeo) who reported this in http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2542&KW - my suspension thread ...

Oh, I almost forgot one of the awesome parts of the story. Gary, being the amazingly macho individual that he is, managed to light himself on fire, and simply not care. His jacket may be on fire, but to hell with the flames, he had welding to do.

That intake is worth more than my hand, was a fair trade.
