The August meeting is coming up next weekend, Saturday the 9th. We
will do another location again this time. I won't be able to attend though,
so for those that plan on attending, where should the club meet?

Vancouver? Langley? Anywhere in between? Combine with a run?

I'll be at the http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?FID=27&TID=3501&PN=1&get=last - BCCC autocross all day Saturday, so a run is out of the question for me. However, I'd still like to attend the meeting as this will be Colby's last opportunity to join us for awhile as he's being banished to Saskatoon for an extended stay.

Has anyone been letting Ricky's know when you won't be there? They have a book behind the front desk with the room reserved for us every month. They try and staff the same waitress's for us each month as well. So someone should be letting them know if the club won't be there.

Hmmm... with both Harrison and Glenn not able to attend, this doesn't bode well for a meeting.

Since no one else is making any suggestions, I'd like to possibly meet somewhere in Maple Ridge this Saturday. Why Maple Ridge? Well, why not... it's someplace different.

I'll be in Pitt Meadows all day at the BCCC autocross, and Maple Ridge isn't too much farther down the Lougheed Hwy from there. Colby wants to attend this last meeting before he ships off to Saskatoon for university, and it's not a bad journey from Abbotsford to Maple Ridge for him. And there might be a some other Fiero owners we don't usually see at meetings from out that way who may wish to attend.

Anyway, I don't call the shots here, but I'm just trying to get the ball rolling... as it's already Wednesday with nothing confirmed for Saturday. Suggestions?

Hmm, that's different for sure. I'm pretty indifferent, aside from being hesitant of driving all the way out to Vancouver or something like that (I still would, though).

O/T from the thread, but Glen if you are going to the Fest would you possibly be able to bring back a set of 88 Brake Rotors for me? Jeff Fisher from Portland has them and will be at the fest himself.

I'm hoping that a destination such as Maple Ridge might encourage someone like Joe (ARTIC-1) or anyone else from out Mission-Harrison way to attend.

Any meeting we have is just going to be informal, casual. Weather should be perfect.

Maple ridge sounds good if no one has any reason to object.
I'm bit familiar with maple ridge area though, so anyone know of a good
place to meet up?

Jim, the last time I drove through Maple Ridge was probably ten years ago.  Seriously!

I think it's about time to check it out again. If no one is familiar with Maple Ridge, maybe I'll just use Google street view and find a good spot with parking.

However, there must be someone reading this thread who knows the area.

There used to be a really good place on the main drag it was either a Boston Pizza or a Red Robin, however I can't remember, but I am leaning towards it being a Boston Pizza.

Dave, there's no current listing for a Boston Pizza in Maple Ridge, so might it be this Red Robin?

Yep that looks like the one, I remember the Save On in the background. Huge parking lot, right on the corner of Lougheed and Lougheed.

Close... Lougheed and 227th.

Okay, well this seems like as good a spot as any.

So... who's going to check out the wilds of Maple Ridge on Saturday?

Hi Patrick, yes I will be there. Are we trying for 6pm
again....
Hopefully, I won't be the first one there again...

Sure, let's aim for 6 PM.

I'll be going directly from the BCCC autocross (at the Pitt Meadows airport) which officially ends at 4:30 PM. I might help with some of the "tear down" at the end, but getting to Red Robin in Maple Ridge by six o'clock should be no problem for me.

I'm actually looking kind of forward to going there as it's been a long time since I've been down that part of the Lougheed Hwy. I'm sure I'll notice the area built up a tad.

So Jim, I gotta ask... What will you be driving?

Joe, it would be great if you could attend the meeting. This is probably the closest the meeting will ever be to you!

I'm going out to Pitt Meadows late this afternoon to help set up the track for tomorrow's autocross. If we're done at a reasonable hour, I might venture down the highway and scope out the Red Robin.

Just so we know who to look out for before we go inside to eat tomorrow, who plans to attend the meeting?

Up to this point we have... Colby, Jim, Pat (and I'm not quite sure if Joe is coming or wanted to come).

Three or four people are fine, but a few more bodies would be welcomed.

Post your intentions here in this thread... and come on out!

I drove by the Red Robin in Maple Ridge after helping to set up the track for tomorrow's autocross in Pitt Meadows. It's on the north-east corner of Lougheed Hwy and 227th. Tons of parking, nice looking place from the outside.

I'll be bagged after being out in the sun all day tomorrow at the track. I'll be wild and crazy and have a cold beer with my dinner.

Just heading off to the autocross... so no further internet contact until tonight. See whomever turns up at the meeting tonight..

I was done at the autocross site at 4:20, so just for the heck of it I drove to Mission and then back to the Red Robin in Maple Ridge. Got there about 5:40 and listened to tunes until Jim showed up around 6 o'clock. We were just about to go into the restaurant when Colby pulled into the parking lot. We went inside and were seated. Then Henry turned up... then Dave and Lisa and the girls came in. So it turned out to be a nice little gathering.

Afterwards we gathered around Henry's '86 GT that he wishes to sell and proceeded to fix things.  It's a nice car.

It's been a long day. I've got some video of my runs to review now.
