We need to pick up an installation Kit and Adapter Harness to install an aftermarket deck into an 86SE. Its short notice so I can't use my normal sources. (Waylon and Chris) I spoke to both of them and they recommend just picking up the Metra Kit at Bum Riders and a harness from Best Buy or Future Shop.
Anyone else got any recommended sources for install stuff? This is for Tims Fiero. He's just got stock speakers and such so Top Line quality is not so important. We found him a deck that will suit his needs. USB Stick input, SD Card Slot, plays all the standards, AM/FM RECEIVER AND MP3/CD/CD-R/RW COMPATIBLE CD PLAYER BUILT-IN 40 WATT X 4 MAX POWER WITH ANTI-SHOCK PROTECTION MULTI-COLOUR DISPLAY FLIP DOWN DETACHABLE FACE PLATE INCLUDES WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL The unit is made by an off shore brand. Auto Sound. I stress its fine that it is not top end, as his radio spends more time on AM1130 than it does bumping the tunes with some giant sub. Well he has been known to Blast Kenny Rogers or Dolley Parton to drown out the Ricer playing rap next to him. But thats still nothing that needs clarity. Waldo Mart has a pretty good selection of install kits, harness's, antenna adapters, etc. I was surprised! |

ive got a clarion deck the kit and the harness gm01b (coming In today) the harness that is ... .. deck is 159 kit 20 wire harness 15 .... the deck is a clarion dxz575usb ...or a dxz 675 usb for 189 ...im in chilliwack ..musicworx on yale road .. call me if ya need the stuff -------------

Thanks for the heads up on both.

I used the kit from CDN Tire for most GM cars of the late 80'S I have used the same kit for 87 astro van, 86 s10 truck and two fieros while installing Alpine cda 7893 decks only draw back ... this kit is not flush mount, you deck will stick out about an inch through the facia plate. but the finish is pretty good The kit i recall was about 25 bucks and the wire harness plug and wires were 9.99 however they seem to run out of stock so u might have to check a few stores M ------------- Marcel 86SE V6 Auto 85SE V6 Auto 85 2m4 soon to be sleeper 3.8sc 5 speed |
